The one major thing I took away from this is it sounds as though Americans are incredibly daft want to go to the Netherlands and begin applying for jobs. I've never heard of someone submitting an 11-page Rhythm and I know that made him situation however, they harp on it being one page over here because they're not going to read past that. In addition, if you're not researching what other countries require versus what you've been submitting in your own country, in my opinion, that shows a major lack of lpgical reasoning. I can't begin to imagine why I would ever think submitting an American resume to another one's company would make any sense whatsoever. I think part of the trouble some Americans are going to have with submitting what they have done previously could also be because it's extremely difficult to find assistance with putting together a Dutch resume in the way the Dutch employers prefer. I've been searching for a year and a half and this is the first I've found of anything. I tried going to the website provided for Ms. Charlotte and it longer works and while searching online, found her LinkedIn page however, after logging in, it said she is not included in my network so I hit yet another dead end and am ack at square 0. As a Dutch mom of two, it never occurred to me to visit the GP when I wanted to get pregnant, nor when I got pregnant. I went straight to the midwife's office. My GP only found out that I had been pregnant when he received my kid's birth announcements. I think it's pretty awesome that, in the Netherlands, healthy pregnancies and deliveries aren't heavily medicalised, like in most parts of the world. As long as a pregnancy and a delivery are developing normal and problem free, there is no medical problem. No doctor needed. It always makes me feel a bit angry when I hear about doctors having delivered the babies. Mothers deliver babies, even when the delivery takes place in a hospital. I feel very privileged and grateful for living in a country that has such a great support system for women who choose a natural delivery in the comfort of their own home.

The Netherlands is actually famous for having one of the BEST pregnancy and post pregnancy care in the ENTIRE WORLD! Box3 explanation had 2 inaccuracies: 1. savings assumed rate of return is 0.92% for 2023 and not 0.01% stated in the video 2. 100K equity in the house and 100K debt does not mean one has to pay (6.17-2.46)% of 100K x 32% as tax. There is also a calculation of Basis which in this case will be zero assuming no other investments/savings higher than 114k for fiscal partners

This was a good overview. Despite living here for some years this talk helped me fill some of the gaps remaining.

Currently pregnant 8 month (in Amsterdam), the midwife contact was first surprising but supporting. It's true that I had very difficult pregnancy and also some depression. So I have just 2 midwife from the office because of my condition. I was also recommended for psychological health care. But yes it's very different compared Italy and Czech Republic that I can compare with my partner.

I think the part about migration form for tax return is only partially correct, at the moment is possible to submit it online under the name M form, still dutch only, but not 86 pages anymore.

In the Netherlands you are constantly robbed by the government! If you earn some extra money, you will be punished for it by means of extra taxes or levies! The Netherlands is tax technically for a citizen, the worst place to live and work! The government is one big corrupt gang of thugs!

Straight up opinion from a born and raised Dutchy here: Friendships: The Dutch in general have a very strong social connection among the people Dutchies grow up with, as in street mates (from the street you grew up in) schoolmates (yeah ;-) and maybe university mates. So we grow up getting to know these people from a very young age and usually these people tend to stick around your whole life; mind you these are all born and raised Dutch natives, speaking Dutch and later on in life (at around 12 years of age) we all get introduced to foreign languages like German, French and English. But just to set one thing very, very straight here: The fact that we obviously manage to speak a little foreign language, may give you easily the wrong impression that we are able to express ourselves in any foreign language at all. We may give you the impression that we know a few words in English, and that we are maybe even able to chitchat on a very superficial level, but when it comes down to serious conversations (you know the ones that go far beyond superficial chitchat) no other language but our own (Dutch) will prevail, since it really is Dutch and Dutch only in which we are able to fully express ourselves. And so the Foreigner we speak chitchat English to, and we speak Dutch (only!) among friends. So want to invade as a foreigner in long lasting friendship groups that exist for several decades among Dutch people the first and most important condition is to speak Dutch fluently. When you're lucky one person in such a group of friends will take the trouble to speak English to you, until a joke is made in Dutch and the whole gang will speak Dutch to each other again, that also goes for the person whom previously took the trouble to speak a little English to you. So there you are as a English speaking person in a room full of Dutch people talking Dutch to each other. Strange..? No, not really, this is The Netherlands after all and one speaks Dutch here. Religion: well The Dutch (as a Global Trading Nation) found out the hard way that it most certainly is a disadvantage to be religious, since Religion is going to hinder you in doing business over the entire Globe. The vast majority of the people in The Netherlands is Non-religious and the number of religion leavers and church leavers is ever growing and so it will not take that long before being religious is going to be very exceptional here. In fact even talking about religion is not done here and is considered to be offensive to other people and to be very personal, to be compared with talking about your personal s@x life, like for example how many s@x-partners you have had and what you performed with them, You just don't do that. Want to get to learn Dutch people? : Become a member of a club of your hobby !

I think if you migrate to another country as a foreigner to build a life there, then you should integrate yourself out of respect for that country and the population and learn the language. Even if you can make yourself understood in English
