good course for a flat field, big headwind in one direction, 2 passes through a bog, and a last lap crash which eventually lost me a place!

A day at Blyton Park in my supercharged mk1 mx5. one of the hotest days of the year, and apart from a bit of engine protection from getting a little warm, the car performed faultlessly! both the Inner and outer circuits, both excellent fun!

Video from a trackday at Cadwell park in April this year. This was the cars first outing after a bit of work over winter, including a manual steering rack, new belt auto tensioner for the supercharger, and another bit of weight loss. the car performed perfectly all day, apart from a few bits of unexpected oversteer which may have been down to not having time for a full alignment with the manual...

@@guiguitonicmotorsport I think that was torsen at that point, best was 14.4 I think. Might go better now with grippier tyres and more stripped out
@@benhawkes111 Ok thanks. MY best time is 14.55s 1.6 nb torsen cai decat and 35 shot of nitrous. I wiill install m45 coming soon I wish 13.5 with tiny shot of nitrous...

Assume so! All I did was the backbox delete! Mine was a manual though. Don't know if it makes a difference as my auto E39 doesn't sound like this with the same mods!

It has done for the last few years now. Apparently there is nothing to say that it needs a silencer, my e39 the exhaust just stops at the diff
Can this be done just with NCS Expert? I want to disengage auto lock.
Not sure, I assume it can be but you have to make sure your adjusting the right thing

late comment but what is the exhaust setup?
It is a mk2.5 manifold mk2 downpipe (standard) with a section of 2.25" stainless welded in to adapt it to a mk1 decat and mx5 parts single exit cat back exhaust. What I have recently done is now welded it onto v bands and have a removable straight pipe or resonated section to put on for certain trackdays. This was straight pipe centre.

Hi mate, you running a malian exhaust? any issues with the Db limits? sounds very similar to mine and im at donington on sunday
Mine is a mx5parts cat back with a custom decat it usually measures about 97 static, not aure what it gets driveby, but didn't have any problems last year

Yes do it! Mines a 1.8 and it makes 190hp, 180ft/lb 👍 It feels like a fast naturally aspirated car, but you do get ti a limit where the boost can't get turned up any more, which is where turbo takes over! Bur this is fast enough for track days!

Thanks for the info, Ben. I have an '03 e39 530i in which I replaced the ABS module with a rebuilt unit (not my original). Unfortunately the rebuild was coded for an automatic trannie and not my 5-speed - and thus my DSC remains disabled. Can you possibly point me to which coding module to access to change that option? I have already installed all the BMW Tools & I have the K+DCAN cable, so I should be set to go.

Is it best to use with the engine bay round connector or would a usb obd2 work also for e39 540?
I think it depends on the age of your car, this was on the inside obd port, but some cars you have to use the round one for certain modules!

Yes! Just cut off the rear muffler and changed it for a straight pipe

Thanks for video. Today I read Ecu from my E39 and module- RAD is not in list, but I use monoblock radio. Why? Also, I have two modules- Mid+Type_Dec. But on MID, I dont see frecuense and time... So, I use only monoblock Radio... Best regards from Minsk, Belarus!!!

hi, which cable do you use? i have a 1999 e39 535i with the obd1 under the hood in the engine bay and one obd2 under the light controllmodule. Which one did you use for coding? greetings from deutschland
From what I understand, you would use the one under the hood. I have a 2000 528i and i can access all modules using the round connector under the hood. I will be doing some diagnosing today and will report back
As long as there is a round connector on your BMW, you always should use this one. Because not all of the ECUs are accessible through the OBD2. This changed once the OBD2 became standard in about 2002 and simultaneously the old round connector was no longer included.

😂 I wish! It was just a backbox delete, both the main cat and pre cat still fitted 😉 no flames, other car does that!

Can you add a list of angles used
I didn't use any angles, just cut straight lengths of pipe at angles to make the bends, I'll be honest though I never really measured anything! Just offered it up and made it fit 👍

There is a lot of Blue Smoke, probably its because Oil is burining out...
More like a cold start with worn glowplugs, or maybe an injector starting to stick open slightly when not running
@@KylesCarsYT you are correct, I had two glow plug errors on this, replaced the glow plugs and it doesn't smoke at all now. Never used any oil since I've had it, hardly even worth bothering checking it, it is that good!

Thanks man! M45 supercharger, 17% reduction pulley, intercooler, dual throttle bodies, forge dump valve, rx8 yellow injectors, me221 ecu, Ali rad, coolant reroute, dual cooling fans, torsen 4.1lsd I'm going to do a video soon of a bit of a walk around of the car!

How difficult was it to remove the muffler ? Wanna do mine but don’t know how hard it is
Not difficult, I used a exhaust cutting tool, like a chain whip with little cutting wheels on it, took about 20 minutes for a nice clean cut. You could use a reciprocating saw or angle grinder and be a through in a few minutes with a little more mess!

What is that whistling noise is that the turbo is the turbo failing out I have the same problem Please can you let me know what's that noise
Pretty sure it's just the noise a turbo makes! Watch any big turbo diesel and you hear the turbo over most other noises!
