Back to Portknockie after shopping in Buckie. Look at this lovely weather, great for a slow drive home. So glad that not too many people know about the splendid circumstances to have a holiday in Scotland: they would all decide to come. And that would be just too busy. No, let them think Scotland is rain, sleat, fog, mist etc.

On the way to Buckie to do the shopping. Nice weather, how it should be. It is not all in this episode, but the gorse is all over the place and yellow/orange like there is no tomorrow. Huge amounts of it...

The second part of our trip to Aberdeen. The weather remains on the down side and makes everything grey, very much so in Aberdeen, with all it's grey granite buildings. A place of learning and of trade. But the oil business doesn't look to be too good anymore. Hope it gets back on track again.

I don't know why, but I just love Dundee. A real city, but not too big, just right. I love the shopping: the Overgate. And I very much like the flags flying opposite Desparate Dan: makes you feel welcome there. When travelling to our destination, we usually stay at a Travelodge. You know: just to sleep, make some coffee, take a shower in the morning and be on your way again. But this Travelodge...

At the Corbridge exit, we turn from the A69 onto the A68. A wild ride, with all the blind summits and hilly ridges to climb, all the way to the crossing with the A698. Then, passing the Catcleugh Reservoir in the Northumberland National Park, on to the border crossing at Carter Bar, a misty and cloudy place this time...
