Black Women Don't Have Time - Set Yourself Free!
While I genuinely appreciate diversity in black hair aesthetic, I wholeheartedly believe all Original women should lov their hair!
We have been suckered into thinking all this labor, time and money we dedicate to our hair is cute and it's honestly just a waste! There are several reasons for my belief, but the most important in this time is the economic impact within the Black Community. We could literally redirect the trajectory of our communities by changing our spending habits related to hair alone!

LOCS v. QUARANTINE - Not All Hair Styles are Created Equal
Переглядів 4804 роки тому
It's been weeks! And quarantine is really starting to take its toll; both mentally and physically. Everyone knows, when you look good, you feel good! But with barbershop and beauty salons shut down; nail and lash techs out of work; parks and gyms closed, people aren't able to engage in self care the same. After a few house calls last week, I realized people were starting to get a little antsy.....

    This may not be true. Especially for me where my hair is very soft and always grew out of pattern. 15 years and no breakage and when I part you will never see a line. My hair just grows.

    What if your hair grows away from your loc that is not breakage and some may confuse the two.

    I feel you but might not be true. I'm East African(Eritrean) my hair is super soft and takes forever to loc up. I've had locs for about 15 years(3 diff sets, most current for 8 years), by the time a wash is required for me(2-3 weeks after retwist) the retwisted root comes loose and even from the steam in the shower in between. Parts remained defined but also fuzzy, once retwisted about an inch and a half of silky twist before the locd part.

    I appreciate the knowledge you imparted in this video. I’ve been on the market looking for a loctitian in the Los Angeles/ Long Beach area recently and you are one of the first that mentioned what we as clients should be asking before starting our locs. I am wanting to start top locs only w/ comb coiling. May I ask why you said two strand twists is your favorite method? Thanks for sharing w/ us!

    • @thelocdarling9298
      @thelocdarling9298 4 роки тому

      DJOHLA sure! It’s the best method for hair longer than 3 inches. I definitely recommend comb coils for shorter hair. 2-strand twist is the fastest nest god and on long hair is recognized as a style in itself. Comb could in longer hair takes longer and looks a bit juvenile in my opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️. Styling is also less ideal in the early stages
