Hello, Darling!
I’m Hadiya, The Loc Darling and I’m super excited to take you along this journey. As a loctician, my own loc journey has expanded to include so many other journeys like yours! Even if you aren’t loc’d (yet) the personal growth and healing of this process has proven to be of tremendous value for people rocking all kinds of styles.
A little about me: I am a creative , advocate and entrepreneur. I was born and raised in South Central, Los Angeles; and graduated from Howard University's School of Business in 2007. Moved to New York for a brief career in finance as a licensed broker. After the market crashed, I returned to DC for a few years to work in food and beverage. I started my LOC journey in 2011 and began doing locs professionally at Loc Lov Salon DC in 2015.
After becoming a mom, I returned to LA, and am now on a mission to normalize Locs in mainstream media and film! Represetation matters. Black women matter. Let’s go!!!

Black Women Don't Have Time - Set Yourself Free!
While I genuinely appreciate diversity in black hair aesthetic, I wholeheartedly believe all Original women should lov their hair!
We have been suckered into thinking all this labor, time and money we dedicate to our hair is cute and it's honestly just a waste! There are several reasons for my belief, but the most important in this time is the economic impact within the Black Community. We could literally redirect the trajectory of our communities by changing our spending habits related to hair alone!

LOCS v. QUARANTINE - Not All Hair Styles are Created Equal
Переглядів 4804 роки тому
It's been weeks! And quarantine is really starting to take its toll; both mentally and physically. Everyone knows, when you look good, you feel good! But with barbershop and beauty salons shut down; nail and lash techs out of work; parks and gyms closed, people aren't able to engage in self care the same. After a few house calls last week, I realized people were starting to get a little antsy.....
New Growth vs. Breakage- What's really going on with your roots
Переглядів 5 тис.4 роки тому
Over time, many loc wearers learn to embrace fullness at their roots; and start to maintenance their hair less and less. It is not until a maintenance that you can see whats really going on at your roots. Many people are under the impression they have a lot of new growth; however chances are high you might actually be experiencing breakage! Breakage is a sign that you need to change your routin...

Some people hair grows away from thier locs . its a trait .
What about for people who has new growth that grows around/outside of their locs, like myself?
Yes, everyone hair don’t grow with there locs, they need to do more research before telling people these false facts
bcus u loc pop alot
@@zDestructorTV its not only caused by popping its also just a natural trait
I love this video ❣️
Thank you. I feel the same❣️
Don’t think this is really true but everyone has there own opinion
What best retwist product do you recommend …
Omg your locs are heavennnnnnnnn
Your locs are so bomb
This may not be true. Especially for me where my hair is very soft and always grew out of pattern. 15 years and no breakage and when I part you will never see a line. My hair just grows.
What if your hair grows away from your loc that is not breakage and some may confuse the two.
You speak facts. I would definitely look you up if I lived in your state. Looking forward to more of your vids.
Enjoying your videos. Just subscribed!
10,000% agree with you
I feel you but might not be true. I'm East African(Eritrean) my hair is super soft and takes forever to loc up. I've had locs for about 15 years(3 diff sets, most current for 8 years), by the time a wash is required for me(2-3 weeks after retwist) the retwisted root comes loose and even from the steam in the shower in between. Parts remained defined but also fuzzy, once retwisted about an inch and a half of silky twist before the locd part.
U said that! Been loc'd for 17 years and ain't had a bad hair day yet...
Can you upload a new video?
I appreciate the knowledge you imparted in this video. I’ve been on the market looking for a loctitian in the Los Angeles/ Long Beach area recently and you are one of the first that mentioned what we as clients should be asking before starting our locs. I am wanting to start top locs only w/ comb coiling. May I ask why you said two strand twists is your favorite method? Thanks for sharing w/ us!
DJOHLA sure! It’s the best method for hair longer than 3 inches. I definitely recommend comb coils for shorter hair. 2-strand twist is the fastest nest god and on long hair is recognized as a style in itself. Comb could in longer hair takes longer and looks a bit juvenile in my opinion 🤷🏾♀️. Styling is also less ideal in the early stages
YOUR LOCS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!🙌🏾😍🙌🏾 So glad I watched your video!!! Here because I saw what you did to Keri’s hair on ig🙌🏾
