This channel is dedicated to the brown bears of Brooks River in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Many thanks to Charlie Annenberg and the team at Explore.org for providing the live cams at Brooks River that give us the rare and fascinating glimpse into the lives and behavior of the bears we see. Thanks also to all of the camera operators, technicians, rangers and staff on the ground that help to enhance our viewing and understanding of the bears.
Bear identification on this channel is thanks to the assistance of knowledgeable chatters on explore.org bear cam pages, a dedicated wiki and the Bears of Brooks River 2022 eBook published by NPS. Misidentified bears are my own mistake.

307 was strolling through the frosty morning grasses when he caught the scent of something and took off running and then swimming away. We caught glimpses of 32 Chunk's mildly dogged pursuit of 602 off and on today. There seemed to be time to take breaks, maybe snack. Chunk displayed his dominance and lack of speed. Brown bear 602 sees 32 Chunk coming and heads for land. 32 follows with similar jiggling and lumbering steps. Compare the rear ends of these two bears for yourself.
