I see these people get stuck if your going to take a 4x4 you need a powerful reliable one! A winch a lift mud tires tools and take people that spot is a swamp in areas

yeah they are just out having fun, but intentionally tearing up trails is why so many NJ offroading spots, and offroading spots in general, are being shut down. fact of the matter is, if the land owner has to choose between paying to repair the trails constantly and stopping the vehicles that are tearing up the trails from being able to access the trails, they are going to choose closing off the trails 9 times out of 10. if we want to be able to go out and enjoy offroading, we need to take care of the areas we are offroading in to make sure they remain open. going wheeling and avoiding spinning your wheels excessively and picking up trash when you can will go a long way to lifting this negative stigma that offroaders are just out to trash the place

These are fire trails tearing up the wet areas makes it impossible for fire trucks to get through.. They don't have enough man power to fix all the roads every day. I've been in the Forrest hate to say but the locals destroy it. Dumping trash by the truck load. Ripping up the trails . Very few people from out of state tear it up why they have to make it home with there ride. Most drive to and out of woods no trailers. There are trails I've driven on for years with puddles not deeper than 6 inches nothing like going through a know spot and being up to your door handles in water because a clown with big tires tore it up. Ime from Pa we go fishing kayak scenic drives to see the wild life have lunch keeping our trash. I have been on new fire trails not on map with the ranger behind me 😂 telling me it's not a trail yet but no problem because ime not driving fast I tread lightly. Telling me how to get to trail.

Maybe next time be a man and talk to them respectfully about proper trail etiquette instead of going full Karen. That whole time you stood there to help them get unstuck but didn't talk to them about any of it. An eye to eye conversation has a much longer lasting impact than just wasting some cops time with kids splashing in a puddle🤦

Great video, and I agree. I love the Pines and have a regular Subaru which can handle most of the pines except these mud holes left by off road vehicles. I pick up garbage all over the darn place. I usually do wait for dryer months to go out there.

Seems like it is always people from out of state destroying our trails, couple years ago some people from philly came over in uhauls with stolen dirt bikes and quads, destroyed some trails, littered, trailblazing, however police got them and impounded all the vehicles.

There will be a lot of really pissed off people if vehicle access gets restricted. Sad that all over the country states have these kinds of grounds, and beautiful places to wheel/overland/camp. Everything is so difficult in the north east.

Maybe just maybe New Jersey should actually lay out trails for off-road capable cars with different trail difficulty rating like a bunch of other states

I've enjoyed the pine barrens my entire life since the early 80s. I've hunted, fished, hiked, and dirt bike every corner of that place. Legally. As far back as I can remember these big puddles have always been there and will always be there no matter what you do. The guys in the Cherokee, well yeah that's just irresponsible... But please don't vilify all of us legal dirt bike riders who actually make a concerted effort to be responsible, not leave trash, not purposefully make ruts and crap like that. Any tracks a dirt bikes leaves are literally gone within a couple days, especially if it rains. The pines are resilient. Think about it, they burn down every few years and grow right back, and if nobody walked in them or rode in them for like a year you wouldn't even know humans had ever stepped foot in there. Stuff grows back so fast it's not even funny. Not to mention that dirt bikes help the pines by keeping the fire cuts clear. Fire cuts are there for a reason, to impede the spread of fires and it's actually a hard job for the state to go through and keep those things clear but dirt bike riders contribute to keeping them clear. It drives me insane when I see these idiots going around laying logs every 10 ft across every trail in that place which is actually contributing to higher fire hazards, not to mention making it harder for the hikers and horseback riders as well. For the out-of-staters coming who leave trash and just burn out the puddles even deeper than yeah we can keep that out... but for us NJ residents of us who actually care and take care of the place, whose tax dollars and registration fees pay for upkeep, please leave us the heck alone.

I understand his point and confliction. It’s unfortunate, no one wants to be that guy, but something also has to be done. I think a middle ground can be found. Perhaps a pass system where they only sell a limited number of passes a year to certain vehicle types for such purposes to limit the quantity of vehicles ripping through the forest. Or restrictions on activities out of staters can partake in, in the forest. I’m not certain what the right solution is but I think a total ban of those vehicles on the roads is not the best solution.
