When I first heard this on John Peel's programme, as a jazz fan I immediately recognised Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman, but it was a while before I tracked down the other main sampled piece and found it's The Toy Trumpet by the Raymond Scott Quintette. Later I bought a CD collection of Scott's pieces.

It kills me this isn’t available on any streaming platforms… It’s my favourite electronic track of all time (I love DnB, breaks, progressive house etc…) I had the album on cd, i gave my best mate 900+ of my cds to put on hardrive and he could sell the cds as i owed him. He passed away at an early age and the hard drive is corrupt. I miss my best friend and i miss this track. UA-cam is the only place I can find Deep South, thanks for the upload 🙏
