It's a Catalina and has been disrespected by vandals . The video makes me sad . My family survived WWII in German occupied Netherlands. Do some home work on the history of the Aircraft and make another video. I will look forward to it. It deserves to be respected. I'm glad you made this video. People need to see how others have no respect for history I've seen it happen to all kinds of historical sites including things hundreds of years old. That is why most of us that find such places tell no one of the the location except historical and Archaeology people. We share only education not location.

All plane crashes are sad but there's something about a dead Catalina that is particularly sad, something about the elegant lines and the eccentric engineering of those beautiful old birds. It like a dead Albatross, something that should never happen.

The Canso was a Canadian license-built version of the American Consolidated PBY flying boat.

Not really a bomber. A PBY Catalina was a maritime patrol/anti-submarine/air-sea rescue aircraft. Although the PB designation signified a "Patrol Bomber" it wasn't a bomber per-se in the way that a Liberator or B17 was.

When was it declared a ghost town? As a teen, I used to deliver newspapers in Ioco back in the 80s… I never knew it was a town, just a neighborhood in PortMoody… everything was closed, it only had a few residents.

I remember driving past that school and always wondering about it.
