A hobby that I hope keeps growing and growing
French Mine
Today we are checking out two shafts of the French Mine, one with an original ladder to get onto a second level still inside! So come along and enjoy the exploration!
⚠️⚠️P.S. We have lit a torch inside the mine but do not recommend others to do the same. There can be old residual gas that doesn't smell and is clear and one spark could light up the whole tunnel. This is information we didn't find out until after the fact.

Ep #5. Abandoned Diversion Dam
Переглядів 1752 роки тому
Today we are checking out a diversion reservoir that was built in 1911. At the time it was the tallest dam in all of Canada. Unfortunately it caused the river to run dry most of the time which greatly effected the salmon as it was a main spawning habitat for them. It was also placed on a fault line. Because of these reasons the dam was shut down. ~ Music used: Cool Chill Lofi Background Music F...

Ep #2. Carolin Mine Mill- Amazing View At The Top!
Переглядів 822 роки тому
Today we are checking out the old mill at the Carolin Mines. It opened in 1982 and was in operation until 1984. It closed because of low gold recoveries, environmental concerns and low gold prices. I made this video about a year ago so don't mind the bad quality and random camera noises. Ep #1. The Mansion- With Huge Pool Inside!

Welcome to our first video! Today we are checking out an abandoned house that seems to have been in the middle of being built when a fire forced the construction to stop. This is just our guess as there is no history about the property. Unfortunately, Layn was not able to be in this one so a friend came along instead! Join us in our exploration of the abandoned mansion. ~ Check us out on Instag...
Needs to be left alone or removed from the forest and put in a aviation museum to keep the vandalism from destroying it.
Yes this makes me feel sad that people vandalize this PBY
It's a Catalina and has been disrespected by vandals . The video makes me sad . My family survived WWII in German occupied Netherlands. Do some home work on the history of the Aircraft and make another video. I will look forward to it. It deserves to be respected. I'm glad you made this video. People need to see how others have no respect for history I've seen it happen to all kinds of historical sites including things hundreds of years old. That is why most of us that find such places tell no one of the the location except historical and Archaeology people. We share only education not location.
For sure, we definitely don't share locations because of the graffiti and violence against most abandoned locations and don't want it to get worse if possible. History should be preserved as vest as possible. I don't live near the site unfortunately; it was a vacation trip so we probably won't be making another video unfortunately :(
Wow, super object. I also like to explore abandoned objects. My huge like.
All plane crashes are sad but there's something about a dead Catalina that is particularly sad, something about the elegant lines and the eccentric engineering of those beautiful old birds. It like a dead Albatross, something that should never happen.
The Canso was a Canadian license-built version of the American Consolidated PBY flying boat.
Not really a bomber. A PBY Catalina was a maritime patrol/anti-submarine/air-sea rescue aircraft. Although the PB designation signified a "Patrol Bomber" it wasn't a bomber per-se in the way that a Liberator or B17 was.
Oh interesting, ya I don't know much about planes, when I was doing the research to try to find the correct name of the plane, articles kept showing up with Canso Bomber
Catel
Poor old girl, sad to see a PBY-5A like that.
Was the pilot able to save the life of the 12 crew members???
This is a video of two people who definitely should not go into mines.
Really neat! I love that torch and the cool little map in the bottom left corner! Those stones in that mine are so interesting!
Really neat! I love those stones in that mill.
Poor old PBY 😢

Love how you find old photos. Then and now! Great music! Looking forward to the next video!
good video, WW2 locations are very Interesting
It was actually used in WW1 as well, I just didn't put that in this video cause I didn't have a lot of space for history but I'll be explaining it more in the next two videos which has more of the same batteries

Interesting places. Where were you?
What region is the powerhouse in?
Coupeville
When was it declared a ghost town? As a teen, I used to deliver newspapers in Ioco back in the 80s… I never knew it was a town, just a neighborhood in PortMoody… everything was closed, it only had a few residents.
I'm not too sure, I looked it up but all it says is that everything shut down except for a few residents still living there in 1975. Not sure if that's when it was declared a ghost town though
@@rosemaryC4466 thankyou… good memories from my teen years 😎👍
I remember driving past that school and always wondering about it.
Quad access only or 4x4?
You can get up there with any car although one that is higher off the ground is always better. You can go directly into the mines with a quad or a 4x4.
How interesting, but how sad that it was left abandoned!
So neat, and sad that it was only in operation for 2 years.
So neat! And what a gorgeous place.
