Thank you
Thank you for making this video!
This video was very rewarding to me. I did not realize the different types of boundaries there were and how crossing them can impact the relationship between you and the client. The line of professionalism should never be crossed with your personal life. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
Important
This was a really great presentation
Very helpful
You need to slow down. You talk way too fast, are you nervous?
HI THE PPT IS VERY INFORMATIVE BU TYOU ARE CEARLY AUDIB
Listened to the video about boundaries, but it seemed as if it was more of a common sense type of instruction.
all done
Super wow
I'm in Georgia and just had to report a situation with a home care aid that used my debit card for her gas and food because she felt entitled to steal from me because the agency hadn't paid her for gas yet. Then that day she made up a lie to leave after she gave me back my card and the receipt for the groceries that were authorized. I didn't find out she had made the unauthorized charge until I checked my account that evening when I needed to make an online purchase. When I reported it to te agency and they called her she made nasty phone calls to me yelling and screaming her self-justifications on the phone and had the gall to gaslight me, telling me that she told me she had used my card before she hurried out of here to her fake "family emergency" (which she didn't). I had to hold the phone away from my ear. I then contacted the agency again and told her she was harassing me and to call the cops. As far as I know they did not do so. I received 2 or 3 hang-up calls today which I'm pretty sure were her calling from a store and then hanging up when I said "Hello." I have been physically ill since this happened with a headache and stomach upset for about 48 hours. The agency was having phone problems so all I can do is email them. It goes to voicemail and they are not getting their messages on one phone number and the other gives me a message that it's disconnected.
Must one get all the. Answers right in an interview?
How I wished I saw this video before my interview 😭😭😭😭😭
Thank you for this we need this kind of action here in California in Los Angeles area!
nice one.thank you
Their is an aid that giving her client alcohol & having a sexual relationship with her client. He’s in his 70’s. She has done everything in the boundaries crossing. Is that part of her job too 😢
Is there a quiz with this
My mothers gives expensive flower arrangements to her on her birthday, and did for me last year too, her daughter, and to even people he’s only helped once. Sounds great, right? Then this year, no flower arrangement. I was disappointed. He shouldn’t even have started! Then it becomes a thing.
Maybe they had financial issues. Expect nothing, and apappreciate everything:)
Yes, don’t treat family members as if you’re a member of the family! You won’t know a thing about the long held dynamics and history between family members. You may like your employer, but they may not have been great parents or human beings in their earlier years, you know. And do NOT pretend you’re doing your job out of affection for anyone, feelings don’t matter. It gets very messy if you start acting like you’d want to help other family members, too, even if you want more work. The kids may not be able to afford your care the way their parent does! Few adult children will ever be able to afford to hire caregivers if they live to that age, so it’s painful for them to watch all the care their parents get. Remember, they will be affected by your mindset! Do your job.
So sorry, but audio is poor! Either project your voice or put the mic closer to your mouth or get a better mic/sound system. I am very intrested in your teaching! So, maybe I'll come back & watch/listen to you! Thank you! I am signing out. Good luck & God bless!
I work in home health where the clients are provided 24 hour care in home with 12 hour shifts. My current client is emotionally manipulative and some of the nurses are aware and maintain firm boundaries but some nurses cross these professional boundaries and it makes it much harder on the rest of us. Our case manager is aware and has even communicated to these nurses about the boundary issues but they don't get it..."But we are the clients companion" they have said. No, we are their NURSE and we help the client to be able to live at home, period. Looking for another job because I just don't see a solution and I dread going to work.
Totally agree
I would love a copy of these slides.. would you consider sharing?
Can I get this PPT?
As always, good information 👌
The sound is not very clear even with the volume at max.
Thank you!
thank You!
Awesome Gracias!$
Hello, Please I need boundaries of role and responsibilities in relation to infection control
Infection control is quite different than maintaining boundaries. Depending on your role with the client you may be in physical contact with them. Infection control follows the assumption that everyone is sick. Therefore you should always wear PPE when needed and required to protect yourself or your client from the spread of infections.
AWESOME!!!
Thank you ! This is great information and topics please make more videos🧡
Thank you so much for this video
Thankyou so much for the video🙌. I'm studying for my geriatric exam I really needed this information.
Nice 👍🏾
when caring for the elderly client are you supposed to clean up after members of the family like for example client lives with family member and they ask you to take out trash feed animals daily take out their recycle and trash water their plants make food for quest? where can I find information to answer my questions?
I feel you should only do that only if it is in their care plan but if it’s not in their care plan then don’t do it You can also tell your manager or supervisor about it if you don’t feel comfortable doing that
You should always stick to your plan whenever possible. Once you venture off the plan, it becomes a slippery slope that will continue to come up between yourself and the client.
What are you being funded to provide?
Does the company you work for give specific outlines as to what you are expected to perform and what you are not responsible for?
depends on the job description for which you interviewed
