Welcome to Pete & Michele's shop.
We create and manufacture unique drivetrains and vehicle concepts for land, sea, and air. We are Weismann.
Our drivetrain products have won everything to win of importance in the racing world, yet we are virtually unknown. That's okay, we kind of like it that way.
We want to tell our inside story of our projects, whether officially acknowledged or not... the who, when, what, how and why of some of the vehicles we have been involved with, whether successful or not. And sometimes we will set the record straight.
This is our history as seen through our eyes, and as told to us by our parents and close friends and associates... we lived it, we have the drawings, pictures, and in rare cases videos to prove it.

Thank you for sharing. Beautiful work!
Awesome.
does anyone else, get a Steve1989MREInfo vibe from this guys voice? good stuff either way.
U built a transmission wtf
13:26
Knowing guys are out there doing things like this inspires me to keep working towards machine work so I can make my own drivetrains some day, love from a guy with some 'fast' bikes :)
13:20 good luck stealing those plans at 360p other engineers
Awesome work!!💪😎🇺🇸
Team VESCO? Don Vesco's kid?
Rick Vesco, Don’s brother run the Vesco team.
@TractionProducts Vesco's shop in El Cajon was a trip! There were always race bikes, of some shape or form , in the lot or showroom.
Neat engineering and awesome video
Thank you for watching and commenting
Please make more. Very few authentic videos like this left on trash tube
Instant sub. Wow! Just wow!
Fantastic engineering, thank you for shareing , ... i was totally blown away by this video. !!! thank you
Chris your brilliant, Loved racing your transmissions.
Probably a titanium pointy pointer lol
Incredible engineering 👏
Interesting! And i almost understood everything too 😄 I look forward to more videos if/when you can do them
every Ford with a 10 speed transmission needs to rech 504 mph
Awesome please keep posting videos!
Wise-man 🤔 Yes i would agree💯💪🏼👊🏼
I still have David Freiburger's words in my ear where he describes landspeed racing basically like this: forget everything you have learned on racecars. Salt is slick, you have almost no traction, you don't need tons of downforce but weight in the car. Lots of weight. This stuff is so radically different from traditional racing wisdom (road racing or drag racing). 😎🤘
Fantastic, I'm looking forward to subsequent videos..
Weismann is a name for me that is linked with great gearboxes and gearbox developments in Formula 1 over many years. After accidentally coming across this video just now, I knew I absolutely had to watch it. I thoroughly enjoyed the video and the narrative explaining the design. I would love to see a follow up video in the future maybe going into a bit more depth on the actual gear change mechanisms or anything else you would care to share. Good luck with the project. It would be great to see a piston engine, wheel driven car break the record you're trying to achieve.
this car is like the ones in movies that keeps shifting gears but actually has the gears.
man i love seeing then people from NZ do so well globaly! kiwi pride!!
This is wild in so many ways. The “making of” or “behind the scenes” or however you want to name it - unreal seeing all the engineering and design elements behind this. I understood maybe 10% of this but felt like I was watching a genius in their natural element just go to town.
rock on !!
The design and ingenuity with this transaxle is off the charts
Where do you get tires that will handle that kind of apeed?
That’s to woke! Back in the day there were just straight axels
Thx for the chuckle!
Such a fine creation of mechanical art. 🖖
I'm glad this popped into my feed , engineering , science and speed..brilliant 👌
Great video an appreciate the time put into giving us a video and amazing work with the engineering and explaining it
It looks like it will be fairly straightforward to go for the next record too, by lengthening the car and adding a second 2700 hp V8 on the other end of the trans. ;)
Awesome to see you guys on YT,i worked with you guys on a hyundai powered car a long time ago, and you guys are amazing.
the absolute state of the transmission/transaxle industry is depressing with all the modern CVT garbage about, or ford's disaster of a DCT. It's nice to imagine better things, this was interesting even though most of it is far above my head. Even in the performance/ hot rod/ car culture industry there is a serious lack of a good, go-to transmission in any decent numbers these days.
Heck ya man always been fascinated by land speed stuff. Nvr been but have known alot of men who have and herad many a story's and seen many dusty speed cars in garages and shops. Cant wait to see more!!!
It's always refreshing to hear the description straight from the designer/manufacturer. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this channel.
Well, dang, boys. Y'all are doing everything I'd love to do. Well done.

#MeetMyBestMate_Mr8gauge_GoodOlKiwiIngenuity truly fukn awesome feeling the wairua 🏁ProudToBeKiwi🏁
Can I put this in my 02 WRX?
No but you can put that junk in a crusher 😂
Beautifully engineered machinery! It is always a special experience to hear the details directly from the designer. They can show details that most wouldn't even notice, but if those features were left out, they would surely miss them. I was wondering what CAD system was shown during the presentation 😅
Would love to be involved in something like this. Bloody kiwis turn up everywhere 😂
Hey Chris excited to see what kind of videos you will be making, also wanted to say that it was a pleasure working with you as a member of UCSDs FSAE team; you and your family’s parts and designs are pretty fabulous
That was awesome man the way you describe everything and showed everything. Such a nice dedication to your parents right on man that was beautiful. What a beautiful piece of machinery good to put in a vehicle you almost wanna mount it and talk about it. I’ll give you thumbs up for that one, buddy.
Great video what a amazing piece of engineering Weismann has made so many cool transmissions over the years. Pretty much the go to when you need to handle insane amounts of power and complex engineering. They also made the Trans for the original Mclaren F1.
It's awesome to hear from a real deal engineer that's involved in some of the most innovative speed, and power vehicles of this time. What a privilege to get some insight on what your working on. Thank you so much for sharing your work I'm sure some nasa engineer would be impressed with that piece!
That was wild. So curious how you make the gears.
