Thank you for having this press conference to make the public aware of this move to threaten our city and the widespread dissaproval by residents. London is a city of 9 million residents; no issues with water supply, well managed traffic, excellent supply of green spaces, v few high rise buildings in suburbs and residential areas. This is what makes it such an attractive city to live in and for tourists worldwide to visit. We should take such examples. Quality needs to be considered with quantity in urban planning. It will be v difficult to remove structures once they are built. Corruption will kill the amazing potential of our city and country.

This is the crux of it. Urban development needs to be PLANNED where residential development occurs hand in hand with better infrastructure, security, and is environmentally sustainable. Leadership should be invested in building a city to be PROUD of. The" green city in the sun" will vanish. Is this what we hand down to future generations? A world that is becoming increasingly fragile thanks to climate change as it is? Pipeline Estate is what we're all to look forward to? How does one make such a reckless blanket statement as the Governor did? Shame on him. These 25 story buildings- How will we ensure fire safety? Has that been factored in? Developers have become an ILLEGAL menace. The Governor knows this very well.

After Sakaja's radical reckless plans are overruled, all the developments that have been flaunting the existing zoning regulations and encroaching on riparian reserves should be reviewed and penalised or demolished.

Unfortunately, this is a losing battle. 😢 Middle class Kilimani, Kileleshwa, and Lavington will have high-rise apartment blocks...whether we like it or not.
