Vets Helping Vets part 4
On this episode, we ride over to Crook County, Wyoming to knock off another bucket list destination, Devils Tower National Monument. It was a great time. On the way back we made a quick pass through Deadwood South Dakota.

On day 3, we do some of the best riding of the entire trip. We road through a large portion of the Black Hills and got to experience Mount Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road and visited Black Hills Harley-Davidson before checking into our Airbnb that would be our home for several days.

In part 2 we ride from Garden City, KS to Hot Springs, SD and get rained on most of the day. We check out a pretty cool watering hole in the middle of nowhere Nebraska and Ziggy picks a fight with his rain gear and loses. Good times as always.

Did you deflate the air hawk seat to almost empty?
Spend almost $37k+ for a bike only to time spring and drop another GRAND for a new seat because the stock one sucks. Same with suspension
Nice whiskey fire bike! I got the same color but in the SG model. Now shopping for upgrades waiting for spring! Hope they have more choices soon for air cleaners..
@@Elaine-hq5rq I am sure they will eventually. I hope you are enjoying your new SG. I am loving my new RG.
Enjoy your videos. I just got patched into CVMA 45-9 on 11 October.
Well thank you for the compliment and welcome brother. I have taken a bit of a break on content to spend some time with the family but I will have more coming soon. Ride safe.
I didn't get to make the 2024 Nationals. I did make Colorado Springs in 23 and I'm planning on going to Athens in 2025
I will be there as of right now. Ride safe.
@ same to you

My cons list. 1. the stock speakers/amp are unusable garbage (I'm still waiting on the cut kit for my bags but the volunteer-audio A2B setup for the front is incredible so far.) 2. I agree that the stock bars are pretty nice but those rubber bushings are horrible if you like to ride a bit more aggressively like myself. The motor is so smooth that they should have at least done polyurethane bushings. (I'm now running Thrashin Supply pullback risers with solid bushing and the handling (especially at speed) is night and day). 3. The stock windshield looks super good on the bike but does basically nothing for wind deflection. (I'm currently running a klockwerks now) 4. Another big con is the speed limiter. It's pretty lame to hit the wall at 112MPH which I can do if I stretch out in 4th gear it just neuters the motor and I'll probably go aftermarket tune at some-point to delete this. Pros for me. 1. I think the bike is beautiful and personally dig the new style and screen. 2. so far I like the seat but I haven't done a run over 300 Miles yet, we'll see how some upcoming trips go. 3. Handlebar wiring re-design, it's super easy to run new bars or heated grips yourself, (I wish my softail had been this easy to do) very owner friendly and no de-pinning needed. 4. Being in a hot climate the liquid cooled heads is huge, this bike runs cool and has pretty great power stock! (The aftermarket is doing good numbers with just pipes and cams.)
I appreciate your comment brother, well thought out and to the point. Ride safe and thanks for the input.
Can I use android auto on that bike.
some people are using devices android auto box devices to allow it. It doesn't work otherwise. "In the friction zone" youtube channel has several videos going over it.
I have seen some other content creators say it is not that Harley doesn’t allow it, but the parent company of Android Auto no longer is compatible for two wheel vehicles. Doesn’t make sense to me.
Good honest opinion video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Do something else
I actually enjoy it. It’s not a full time gig. I spend the majority of my time on my Motor Unit working the highway.
Even the new Indians and Goldwings were able to keep analog gauges. I would hate having the speedometer change and move and even losing the tach. Buying a premium touring bike with a lousy seat is ridiculous. Like buying an offroad truck with street tires. Compared to older models you get a worse seat (especially passenger), no saddlebag bars, no front fender lights or script, one key fob instead of two, no tour pack, no passenger foot boards, no driving lights (Street Glide), one side adjustable shocks, all for a lot more money.
I agree with you about the seat but I think part of it is they have a lot of options for better seat to purchase from the dealer hoping that most buyers will spend a little more money. Saddlebag bars are not really needed. I lay my work motor down frequently in training and the bag guards rarely take any damage unless it goes all the way over, so really the only reason to have them is for looks. If you lay the bike down far and hard enough to get it in its bags, you may have other issues. I agree there should be a second key fob. My 2014 ultra came with two. A lot of time I see the touring bike running solo so why spend the money throwing footboards on a bike when a good chunk of the buyers don’t need them and don’t want that extra cost, same reason for the tour pack I would imagine. I don’t think street glides ever had drive lights. The Electraglides did.
Its the jack boot thug sovereign citizen rights violation training camp 😂

I appreciate your support ma’am. Definitely enjoy your ride. The next few parts of the series will include Devils Tower and the Crazy Horse monument.
@@2WheelVet loved devils tower. Will watch ☺️
I hear this a lot and just saw it in this video too. The mentality that "it is a stock item, it is what it is" ... No... I do not agree with that. I just paid 30k for a frkin motorcycle, put a fkin decent seat on... like any other non Harley manufacturer. speakers that I can hear... I've met some wonderful people who owns 23+ CVOs and they complain about the seat too. I mean just look at it, it is paper thin. I mean wtf... so what if it is stock? If I buy a new car, and the seat is messed up, I am taking that back. It is not gonna be, it is what it is... and btw, my truck was 24k USD when I bought it, adjusting for the inflation, it is the same price as a two wheel mass produced Harley motorcycle... wtf Harley
I am a long time HD supporter and will always own one but I agree with you. Part of me wonders if they don’t bother putting the time into developing better accessories like seats, speakers, and such due to the large aftermarket. But who knows what goes through the minds of the engineers at HD. Ride safe brother.
Nice review with focused comments based on personal experience.
Appreciate that brother. Ride safe.
Hey man, good video. I bought my 24 Road Glide about 3 months ago and have 5K on it. Like you, I think Harley nailed it on these 24 touring bikes.
That’s awesome man. Enjoy the ride. I am slowly making a list of the upgrades I plan to do on mine.
New harley- davidson..... to match electronic 😊tv screen for what?
I am confused by your comment.
huh?
Great video brother, I really like the new bike. I also had issues with my apple carplay on mine. It’s been at the HD dealer for 1 week. But it’s still a great improvement from the last models.
There was an update that came out in May that fixed a big issue they were having where the radio muted and you couldn’t get it to play without pulling the fuse. I am pretty sure the issue I talked about in this video is with Cardo.
i customize my mustang seat to work
Can you tell us what you did & how? What Mustang seat?
@@amberbali8881 i remove the rivets of the seat cover from the front to half way back i pulled the cover back out of the way and with a multitool i cut the plastic off where the seat wraps around the tank going back about 6 inches. i cut about 3/4 to an 1 inch off to nothing back about 6 inches. then pulled the seat cover back over and re pop rivet after pull the cover tight. i hope this makes sense
the problem is there a new design on the side cover which comes up higher
@@timnevitt2993 Thanks. I have thought about using a older style side cover also. Frame is the same but tank is wider. Did you also have to alter the square hole in the front of the seat to work with the new front mounting at the rear of the tank?
@@amberbali8881 yes i cut off part of the metal on gas tank
The seat is awful...24 Street Glide. But I get it, everyone changes them out, along with the windshield.
I’ve been hearing you gotta put 3k miles or more to break in the seat.
@@thanosetsitty1896 I call BS...
Yeah I believe the large aftermarket has a little bit to do with HD not putting too much energy into stuff like the seat, stereo and other little things that are swapped out pretty quickly after purchase.
@@thanosetsitty1896that must be a new seat thing. My 2019 RGS had 20K on the seat and it always sucked. Swapped it for a Saddleman right before I traded it.
Friction Zone shaved his vent switch, to open it up more.
Interesting.
Harley-davidson knocked it out of the park with the 2024 models! Super nice bikes!!
I am loving mine so far. Looking forward to making a lot more content with it whether it’s rides or upgrades.
Buy two and store one. Then you can have a parts bike to replace all the components who will eventually fail probably within the first 5 years. HD is nose diving
Well I guess time will tell.
Hasn't been my experience with any of my last 4 HD's I've owned, nor with anyone I know so I don't know where you concocted that nonsense...
Just say you can't afford it dude...its ok...grab yourself a Grom!!
Great to see a fellow CVMA member with a channel. If you want to save money on a seat and have a very comfortable seat look up Mean City Cycles. They redo seats and customize seats. My wife and I had both our bike seats done and love them. Ask for Kris, he is in CVMA.

That red bike looks bad a**
It does look pretty good, unlike the troll riding it.🤣
Thanks for the talk on this helmet. I have a very long oval head(looks like you do also), I'm having a hell of a time finding a helmet for touring and long rides. I've been to Cycle Gear and a few dealerships trying on every head bucket they have in stock nothing works. No one stocks Simpson so I haven't ever tried one on, how does this one fit your head shape? Any loose areas around the sides or pressure points on the forehead or back of the head? Thx again.
I am working on a review for the helmet now. But to answer your questions, after a 500 mile ride, no hot spots, plenty of room in the cheek area to chew gum but also feel secure. I will explain more in the review so stay tuned.
Frenchie clubs. 😂 looks like a great turnout😂 🐽
Lol, don’t hate.
how often do you guys ride have rides ?
So there are rides going almost every week. Could be as minor as a few guys running to a local brewery, getting diner or just riding, to as major as a group going to a different states state meeting or another chapters meeting or some other sanctioned ride.
