Hi Wicker Fixer, have you successfully reused the original cane webbing in a restoration or do you topically replace?

Sorry for the delay in reply, I do not ever try to reuse the cane, it is always replaced with new webbing.

Where do you get the little metal tool you're using to push the cane into the groove?

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't logged into this account for some time now. The tool is custom-made by a blacksmith.

Beautiful work! How long did it take to do the seat? I have an original Thonet rocker that needs seat and back caning replaced... any suggestions on where to get the cane webbing or do you know of any kits? Thank you!

So sorry for the late reply, removing the spline and cane is the most time-consuming part of this process, which I failed to record. You would likely need a steamer to aid in that process. For the webbing, you could use a kit from amazon, here is one with good reviews: amzn.to/3vBI0kN I normally buy bulk from a distributor, but if I was just doing one or two of my own pieces, I would order from Amazon. Just make sure the spline and the webbbing is the right size, you would want to measure to make sure. As far as installation, it depends on the size of the piece and your skill. I can complete an installation in approx 30 mins and sometimes it can take over an hour. This piece took approximately 40 mins I believe. Thanks for watching!

Wicker fixer is 1 of a VERY few people who can restore your wicker to it's true value. Because they were taught buy people who originally made this stuff. It's a lost art. If you have old wicker they can fix it and make it last another 100 years. Very Cool Stuff www.wickerfixer.com #Antiques #Wicker Heath use hashtags!
