    Which lens fits the mount on the PS-6? I have Micro Nikkor 60mm 2.8D and diameter is 63.5 mm and PS-6 has 53 mm. It isnt compatible. Maybe only Nikon 55mm f/2.8 AI-s. Is there some kind of reduction or adapter?

    This may be a stupid question, but could you not use a lightbox in place of the complex flash and diffuser 'tunnel' arrangement? Or are you photographing live subjects, requiring the speed of the flash? Very impressive in any case.

      @JeanPierreBrito Рік тому

      Hello friend. Your question makes perfect sense. Each photographer has their own way of working. I've already used continuous light, but I prefer the flashes. The light continues to give the same as a flash, it has to be strong and it heats up a lot. Thanks

      What about softboxes mounted on monoblock strobes? They provide a much more flattering light than does a tiny camera mounted strobe and obviously, far more light can be produced than any battery powered strobe could ever hope for.

  • @AllanWallsPhotography
    @AllanWallsPhotography 3 роки тому

    Very nice setup, Jean Pierre! You have a perfect space for macro photography. May I ask a couple of questions... Is your rail controlled by an Arduino? Are you using the PC synch port to trigger the shutter? I like the idea of your diffusion cage around the specimen, but do the edges not cause unwanted reflections in shiny insects? Lastly, what is the purpose of the tube at the rear of the stage? I presume it is to create a perfectly black background, even if your studio is not darkened? You are a serious macro photographer with many good ideas - I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thank you.

    • @JeanPierreBrito
      @JeanPierreBrito 3 роки тому

      Hello friend Allen. Thanks for your interest. I've been doing macro for many years, this is the result of a few years, always improving. When I photograph I see what I can improve, that's why I arrived here. For example, that black tube at the end allows me to have completely black backgrounds. this was one of the latest improvements. The machine, when I'm doing a stacking series, is controlled by an arduino-based system made by me, and which has also had some improvements, you can see in previous videos that this system was fully exposed before you can even see- if the wires, now already have a box with the system inside. The slide diffuser was also a recent idea, it's great for positioning the insect and then covering it without changing distances and without touching it. The machine is fired through the plug to the trigger, I have several machines I just need a different plug for each one. This system I built to fix the insects that have the three movements, I also have a video of it, you can change the diffuser slide, I have several diffusers, for large and small insects. Any question just say, it's a pleasure for me to talk about this subject.

    • @AllanWallsPhotography
      @AllanWallsPhotography 3 роки тому

      @@JeanPierreBrito Thank you! Your videos are very informative and I will plan to experiment with your background tube. If I add it to my setup, I will give you and your channel credit for the idea! Is the Arduino code modified from the accellstepper library or did you write it yourself? I will look to see if you have a video on this subject. I am building a three axis specimen platform that is remote controlled, but I am struggling with the coding for all three motors. I am subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

    • @JeanPierreBrito
      @JeanPierreBrito 3 роки тому

      @@AllanWallsPhotography hello allen Ok, my tube is all painted matt black inside and at the end it is covered with black cardboard, then just fix it. My Arduino system, I did all the physical assembly, the code was made by a computer technician friend, I made the menu map and the distance calculations and he made the code. When I made my 3 axis support, I was about to make electric, but I preferred to do it manually, it is not worth doing electric just to adjust the position, mine is very easy to use, to be electric I would waste many hours to do it and when I am to use it I don't feel any limitation because it is manual. I do few videos, with little frequency The photos are on my website, which needs to be updated. Any question just say

      @@JeanPierreBrito Je pense que vous êtes français comme moi ?Ne maîtrisant pas la langue anglaise je m'exprime donc en français... Très beau montage bien pratique. Avez vous essayé le montage inversé que j'ai testé, à savoir insecte sur le chariot de stacking et appareil photo sur support solide fixe. C'est le sujet qui se déplace et pas le lourd soufflet- objo- appareil photo . Je trouve les clichés plus nets. Qu'en pensez vous. Cordialement.

      @@gerardurbatus2014 Salut l'ami. Je suis né en France, mais j'ai toujours vécu au Portugal. L'anglais est plus facile pour moi que le français. Quant à votre observation, j'ai déjà utilisé les deux méthodes et je trouve actuellement celle-ci plus efficace, ceci avec ma configuration actuelle. Le plus important est que rien ne tremble pendant la séance. Toute question dire. Compliments
