Rupert Spira Embracing the Divine: Becoming One with the Absolute
Rupert Spira A Renowned Teacher of Nonduality
Rupert Spira: rupertspira.com is a prominent contemporary figure in the field of nonduality, a spiritual movement emphasizing the underlying oneness of reality. He is known for his clear and relatable explanations of Advaita Vedanta, an ancient Indian philosophy centered on the unity of the individual self (Atman) with the ultimate reality (Brahman).
In Ruper Spira talks, he delves into the core principles of Advaita Vedanta, a philosophy emphasizing the non-duality of reality. He guides us on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the path to spiritual awakening and enlightenment.
In many of his videos he explores crucial questions:
How can we cultivate true self-awareness and overcome the limitations of the ego?
What is the nature of consciousness, and how can we access our true nature?
[How to find your true self, Rupert Spira] (Weave in a specific question he addresses)
By drawing on the wisdom of Rupert Spira, you'll gain valuable insights on:
Rupert Spira non-duality: Understanding the interconnectedness of all things.
Spiritual awakening: The process of realizing your true nature as pure consciousness.
Rupert Spira overcoming ego: Dissolving the illusion of a separate self.
Whether you're a seasoned seeker or just beginning your exploration, this talk offers a transformative perspective on the nature of reality and your place within it.

coincidence with extremely low probability, as separate minds cannot communicate over distance, making such events seem highly improbable.
Common Experiences of Synchronicity: Everyone has experienced synchronicity, where unrelated thoughts or events coincidentally align, challenging the materialist view due to the high frequency and low odds of such occurrences.
Consciousness-Only Paradigm: In the consciousness-only paradigm, all minds are connected through a single field of infinite consciousness, allowing for simultaneous thoughts in different minds, akin to thoughts in the mind of God.
Connection of Minds: Minds appear distinct at the surface level but become more interconnected as they trace back to their source in infinite consciousness, explaining the occurrence of synchronicity as a natural connection at deeper levels of awareness.
Impersonal Desires: For desires to manifest synchronistically, they must be asked impersonally, aligning with truth, love, or beauty, reflecting the interconnectedness of all minds within the same aware space.
Awareness and Self: Rupert Spira discusses that awareness, or God, cannot direct its attention towards itself, just as the Sun cannot shine on itself. The separate self cannot truly know God because it is already part of God's infinite being.
Concept of Prayer: Traditional prayer is often seen as the separate self directing love towards God. However, Spira suggests that true prayer is not about directing love but about sinking into the essence of that love, recognizing it as one's true self.
Self and God: The limited self, or ego, tries to approach God but fails because it is inherently already part of God's infinite consciousness. The realization that the self is already divine is essential for spiritual awakening.
Surrender and Self-Inquiry: Spira explains that knowing God is not possible through conventional means; instead, one must either surrender the ego (self-surrender) or investigate the self (self-inquiry) to remove limitations and reveal the true nature of the self as divine.
True Essence of Prayer: The essence of prayer, according to Spira, is not an action of the self towards God, but rather a surrendering of the self into its true essence, where the limitations of the ego are dissolved, revealing the infinite nature of God within.

    Forgetting is a function of the mind. Awareness is the stoker of the mind. Mind may get dissolved but awareness which gives birth to mind cannot be. In Sahaja state awareness is there, but the being ( Consciousness) is not bothered by it.

    If there was only one nondual awareness it would have to be aware of everything at once - yet that's obviously not the case ! The reason for the existence of individual experience is the existence of individual awareness created by sense perception and brain activity ! Everything else is speculation - it's like telling yourself a story and believing it , because you want to believe it ! 🤗

    We have attentional access to the parameters of our otherwise subconscious mental processes. We need a model to structure that access and for most people the self is a core part of that model.

    So why this body then? If im actually the awareness why is there this body attached to it?

    • @JamesDidato
      @JamesDidato 10 днів тому

      There are thousands of accounts from NDE (Near Death Experiencers) who do state that when they die their awareness pops out of the body. They look down at the body (if they were in the hospital) and some are surprised that the body down below was what their Awareness was actually in, but they know that "that body is not them". They know that they used to be in that body, but they are no longer, and they do not care at all about that skinsuit we call our body anymore. Many who are told they must come back 'because their work is not done here on earth" often think that there is no way they can get into that body (because apparently, once we are out of the body, there is a much more expansiveness to our felt experience) and once they do end up back in the body, it can feel very restrictive. Why this body then? Well, in order to have this human experience, from tasting ice cream to sprinting, to sex, the full human experience would not be able to be had if we did not inhabit this body at least for our short time on earth. It is often said we choose to come here for certain experiences (some say we actually have a contract). Now, I don't know whether all or any of this is true, but this is what I have read / watched from many Near Death Experience books and videos. Most say that it's like going home, and that realm is more real than this realm, just like this realm seems more real than our dreams at night. All say the same thing about Love. It's the greatest love we will experience and it's nothing like what we call love here on earth.

      Consciousness is fundamental for having this physical experience - of the five senses. Ramana Maharshi (as Rupert Spira and many others) has described it by using the 'cinema show' analogy - or the 'movie screen' analogy. You can find it on yt. Notice, some night when you go to bed in a dark room and see if you become aware that there is a brightness (light) coming through your eyelids. And when you open your eyes expecting to see some source of light - and there is none at all....THAT is Consciousness. We are Light. We are 'IN' Consciousness and not the other way around, but we are so used to saying it that way (it doesn't really matter).

      @Infinity.of.Creation. No need to be troubled by anyone presenting a model of Reality. Especially, when it's a religious ideology. Many are not really aware of what is really being said, claimed and being instilled. Rupert's model of Reality is a religious model. A religious view on Existence. Take good care of yourself!

      @@kathyashby6019 I don't get the part where you say IN consciousness. I understand that there's consciousness within my body and I'm aware of it therefore I'm not the consciousness... so if I'm not that why live in falsity, so this body is just appearing to me but is actually not? Lol but I guess it's true words can't describe the undescribable we can only point at it at best and for sure rupert is one of the best at it. Sometimes I jist feel like im still missing something. @@Infinity.of.Creation You said it well: 'I guess it's true, words can't describe the indescribable'. "What consciousness really is, is rarely defined. Consciousness is the very basis of existence. It is IN and through ALL. Without consciousness there would be nothing. Everything that is here is by its very nature consciousness. And: If there was nothing here consciousness would still be here." (Advaita site)

    Was awareness aware of anything before human beings evolved to the point where we are now, where we are able to be aware that we are aware?

    • @kathyashby6019
      @kathyashby6019 8 днів тому

      Yes, Awareness (Consciousness, etc.) is God (Brahman - Parabrahman). I had an experience - twice, (like an OBE) 5 years ago and described it as 'this awareness being aware of this other awareness'. I had no idea what I had experienced, so I told only a few friends - who thought I was nuts. Two years after that I ran into Ruperts video called Being Aware of Being Aware and cried of relief and joy. Four months after that I ran into Swami Sarvapriyananda speaking on Jnana Yoga - The Path of Knowledge - Advaita Vedanta. And from that point on it has been a ride with great teachers and gurus (in spirituality, physics, philosophy, etc). To your question...It may have to do more so with 'What' you are - as a whole 'spirit' (Jiva, Atman, Brahman, etc.). Joseph Campbell: “When you realize that eternity is right here now, that it is within your possibility to experience the eternity of your own truth and being, then you grasp the following: That which you are was never born and will never die."

    Awareness is the common factor in all experiences, is the only thing that have intrinsic existence, the only thing that is permanent through all our life, is like an empty space that accept all experience without being affected by them, and finally is our naked being once every thing that we are not has been discarded. That is my my humble review from Rupert teachings
