Thanks for sharing your experience with the stuck transmission. Very useful. \
Somebody knows why mi ford 841 get off the 1st while is runing
Or somebody can tell me which one is the 1st speed gear
My gear shift lever can be pulled out just by shifting
Great job i Just had the same problem yesterday and I think that it was because I change the speed too fast
Tu sabes para que es el botón que esta junto a la palanca y como se usa?
@@JoseRomero-qu4wy The button next to the lever is the starter.
How did u no iit was a transmission problem
I knew because I caused the situation, but if you're not sure just check two things. One, the motor started and ran fine with the clutch pedal in (disconnected from the transmission). And two, if you picked the back wheels up off of the ground they spun freely (opposite directions of course through the differential).
My back wheel are turn when tractor in neutral
@@kennymartin379 Then it sounds like only your gear shifter handle is in neutral. It has become detached from the shifter plate. Move the plate (and the gears will move with it) back to neutral and reassemble. Good Luck!
Will this work doing a Ford 600. I was using my bucket and dumped a load looked down and saw it had jumped out of gear. That was it I haven't been able to get the gears unstuck since.I was hoping I can try this. I don't think the trans is much different on a 600
@@scottwinter4839 It looks like it is VERY similar so my guess is yes. Good luck!
Those are some high notes
Super Fun!
Excellent Video
Thank you very much for this video. My 1948 8N did the exact same thing. I tried prying with no luck. Found this video did the same thing and it worked!!
Fantastic! Back when this happened I couldn't find any video help, so I made this one after a retired 8N mechanic clued me in. That's great news! Thanks for letting me know!!
@@osumbx7 ok what’s causing this to happen. I was told that a small do well pin at the linkage was broken.
@@beckyschwantes5287 Not sure what dowel pin that would be. I know that the bottom of the shifter is worn.
Excellent Video, Thank You for Sharing Your Knowledge. "Book 'em DanO'"
Good video, I learned something.
What action happened that got it stuck in three gears at once? Shifting too hard or too fast? Did you find something worn or bent in the shifter mechanism that let it slide into three gears at once? If it did it once it will do it again, unless something is corrected. If you figured it out let me know, I would rather correct the problem in my tractors before I get stuck in a compromising situation during use. With that bent radius rod, it appears that the tractor was abused in it's past. I have dragged home three non running tractors with loaders on them and all three have rods that have been bent, re-straightened, bent again, broken in half and welded, welded with angle iron strongbacks, and re bent again! Thanks.
I was in first gear climbing an incline and plowing snow with a back blade. An approaching car caused me to stop and try to go quickly into reverse but the blade was still down. I tried to go to neutral and raise the blade but the tractor was now in 1st and reverse simultaneously which stalled the engine. At this point I should have stopped, removed the cover plate, and disengaged the gears one at a time with a long screwdriver. Instead, I tried to "horse" it out with various gears and popping the clutch (exactly the wrong thing to do) and managed to engage 2nd gear as well. Shifting too hard and too fast is definitely the reason for the problems I had. The shift lever can move without moving the selector plate(s) if you move it too fast because it is a loose fit design and it has worn with age. I now go to neutral in between every gear selection in order to be sure that I don't engage more than one gear at a time. Thanks and good luck with your tractors.

You guys are awesome I think this is the result when they say don't quit your instrument after school.. Definitely a motivator for the future
