Denon cassette player/recorder
Was some design work done in Milton Keens by Miller?
The Denon direct drive turntable I have has excellent wow and flutter specs so these are inaudible. The aluminum platter has a magnetic strip on the perimeter read by what looks like a tape head for the servo system. If that strip got damaged or demagnetized, you maybe would have a 35 pound paperweight.
10:38 is hillarious, showing the first Sony walkman with a mid 80's Maxell cassette. Maxell, belonging to Hitachi is in no way affiliated with Sony, or vice versa. Would have been more appropriate to show the Walkman with a Sony inhouse cassette tape of the era, a Sony CHF.
Got a setup right at this time with a top end Denon turntable, a Denon cartridge, and Denon stepup transformer. As for their electronics, not had any.
Finally, this includes an explanation on how Denon assumed the Nippon Columbia trademark. Great video.
Columbia - CBS which would later be fully owned by Sony.
This film is a good representation of the zeitgeist. Till 2000 it is about technic and products. From then on it is about who owns what and the profit of the shareholders.
Can you make a video aboute Luxman?
In the list
This is a very informative video, Denon is a giant in the audio sector, not being an AV fan I strictly adhere to its audio outings and especially phono cartridges having passed from various guises of the venerable DL-103, the superior DL-304 and DL-305 and the absolutely fantastic DL-1000A, their best ever cartridge and one of the greatest ever produced period, it's like real musicians being in the room. Japanese audio rules.
Didn't mention too much about Denon DJ ..
TQ.
I really like Denon
TQ
it is only about the products of DENON, and not about the HISTORY behind...
I've never knew the impact off Denon. Very intresting. Maybe an item about the Studer / Revox brand. Think that would be intresting aswell.
Turn off the robot voice..lol
I just picked up a vintage 1989 year oldDenon DRA-825 RA recevier.All analoge circuity,100 w/c,weighs 30lbs and sounds excellent.Mint condition for 50 bucks,
I have a Denon PMA-500V amplifier, and it really has a great sound...I'm old school and I'm not a fan of AV receivers, I prefer to have independent components, all from the 80s, radio, record player, deck, cd player...all from the time when quality was the standard
I agree with you! Same thoughts!!!
best amps and second to none are "Luxman's".
Excellent video,i have two receivers Denon, one set for analog audio, listen LPs and cassete, and other set for my home theater, its old a AVR-2808CI,older models like my has a excellent construction,i say,its built like a tank.

Great job! I'm following your episodes on unfortunately partially-missing worlds 🎉
well done. However, the musician Chopin's name is pronounced "Chopan" as in pan.
forgot to mention Denon's ties / affiliation with Sony?
how come your earlier video about Sony had an American voice? Are you two difgerent individuals runnin' the same channel? I'm confused.
Death by an investment company.
Ferrograph F307mk2 is also worth mentioning.
I would rather hear a human being narrate this - even if poorly, than listen to an AI narrator. Creepy and soulless. I can't listen to this
Kind of wrong to have a picture of Reagan in there instead of Jimmy Carter who was the President during the 70s as being references by the voice over.
Strange pronunciation of some of the product names like - "YOU NIGHTY" for UNITY. Kind of off putting!
Still enjoying my Beolit 1000 portable radio bought in the late 60's! A work of art.
The title is a "click-bate" i.e. "full history" (no), but I'm not hating. I understand that's part of youtube. It's an overview, and far from complete, but I love Klipsch. When I was a kid a salesman was nice enough to let me listen to Klipschorns when I was in about 7th grade and I've been a fan ever sense. I only bought one pair new (Forte IIs) but I now have more than I need. I still have those but I have Cornwall IIs, Herseys, and a pair of Chorus. Anyway. Love Klipsch ;P, so I watched. When finances allow, I would love to upgrade some of them
I like Bose speakers really ❤
Me too
That was excellent thank you. I believe the offices were once situated in Clive Sinclair lab in Cambridge but I might be mixing that up with Arcam audio.
Again, you missed out on SO much. Nothing on the why Mo Iqbul left and went back home to north Africa. No mention of cabinet maker Brian O'Rourke (later Ruark Loudspeakers). No picyures of the MA factory in Cambridge (a massive shed). Nothing about how MA is all Chinese made!
Sorry for that
A bit incomplete really. Not any mention when Stan Curtis took over the company and produced a range of hi-fi equipment...which was quite good but 'different' case designs. Nothing about the fire etc etc!
I had a Beogram turntable back in the late 70’s. I was in High School and saved for a year to buy it.
😢B&W start to way way Ridiculously overpriced overcharging Customers nowaday. very Bad nowaday 😊
love the “how its made” vibe of this video and the soundtrack is perfect
Thanks!
Remember when Radio Shack speakers had a 'Wizzer Cone'? Good times 🤣
2:52 - "different materials" - industrial diamond (Bowers & Wilkins), diamond & beryllium (Usher Audio, Magico, Kharma), beryllium (Focal-JM Lab). Not a comprehensive list, but representative of the manufacturers who use thees materials.
The Philips CD 960 and CD 880 are still the most analog sounding CD players I've ever heard. Nowadays, many amplifiers have a built-in DAC, Philip did it back in the late 80s - the DFA 888 and DFA 1000
Good, nostalgic video unfortunately, they took away all the media we could record on, recording a compact cassette was a real little ritual
I bought an RA1412 integrated amp to replace a Marantz 2270, back in 1978. Sold it a few years later to a buddy .... he still has today..... great unit.
Wow charge 5 xtreme 3 party box encore ear buds headphones been going around life is better with music …no idea jbl was a man/legacy name rip James b lansing we will jam together one day

I own 2 vintage Rotel vertical stereo receivers. different models. it was shop reconditioned and sounds good.
I recently bought a Rotel RA-1572 MkII to drive my JBL L100 classics, they've never sounded so good. Way back in 19776 or 77 I traded a Marantz turntable for e Rotel RP3000 which later I installed a Black widow tonearm.
My reference system is Rotel.
AI voice= sounds boring to me... i guess it is-
Great video on Sony👌
I had a Betamax player
Phillips marketed a video cartridge recorder/player in about '76 or '77. I worked at a distributor that sold them. Absolute junk. I have disliked Phillips products ever since. (It might have had the brand name NORELCO on the product, I don't remember for sure.)
