Hello, my father has Grace Star in Colt, they are resistant to rain cracking, have a good size, but the big problem that we see in this variety, it´s the time that is takes to start to be productive... I am talking about 5 to 6 years, i dont´t know if it´s related to the rootstock (Colt takes more time to be productive, comparing to maxma 60), or that are another reason... What´s your opinion?

First, congrats to the work you done... Here in Portugal, I just have see one place that use UFO as training system... I have planted 400 cherry plants in January, and I am thinking of use KGB training system, but the think that makes me think twice, it´s the number of cuts that I have too do... The bacterial cancer, is the main cause of death in cherries, and if I do many cuts in first 2 years, it´s more probably that the trees accuse it... What product do you put on the trunk of the plants? is to protect from cancer? Thanks for the help
