Lister Star Clipper Reassembly
Welcome to the third installment, where I’ve managed to reassemble the drilled Lister Star horse clippers!
It was a bit of a struggle to get them fixed and back together, but I finally succeeded. The clipper head was especially challenging, but with a little finesse ;) I was able to tackle it. Now, let’s get to work!
In this video, I’ll demonstrate how to reassemble the horse clippers using replacement components and the repaired PCB.

Lister Star Clipper Repair

Part 2 of the Lister Star clipper repair. This video covers some of the repair work that goes in to the replacement of the switch on a set of Lister Star horse clippers. I have to admit it is not the most exciting of videos but stick with it ;) The problem with replacing parts on a factory built circuit board is that they are made with solders that require a lot of heat that my little solder ir...
Drilled Lister Star Clippers
Переглядів 3414 днів тому
In todays video I am going to have a look at a set of Lister Star horse clippers that have a reported switch problem. Apparently they had stopped working and had been sent away for repair. They could not be fixed and they came back looking like this! It appears as though they had been drilled through the casing and in to the switch. Why? I do not know. Please don't do that to your clippers. Any...

What is the point? In today's video, I will demonstrate five techniques for creating a pointed end on your leather. Mastering the art of cutting a precise point is an invaluable skill that can elevate your leatherworking to new heights. We will look at five different points to cut at the end of your leather strap. A simple triangular point, (Not my favourite and I would probably never cut one!)...

Dentella Clipper head

The video that I didn't expect to make! Welcome to the second instalment of the Denetella Horse Clipper disassembly series. In the first part, I focused on dismantling the primary motor; however, I refrained from disassembling the head, as I was uncertain about my ability to procure the necessary replacement parts to replace those that were damaged. As luck would have it I had a replacement dri...
Denetella horse clipper strip down

These are a set of clippers that I have never heard of. Denetella I think! They are an old model of Heiniger horse clippers. Anyway, they are in for repair as they had damaged blades and the carrier was also a bit worse for wear. Fortunately the customer had also supplied some parts and between those, and some bits that I had, I managed to get them back together. Sorry for the convoluted parts ...

Lister Star Strip Down

Lister Star horse clippers are a commonly seen clipper that I come across regularly. While they are not my preferred choice for horse clippers, as they are more of a trimmer, many people still appreciate them. In this video, I encounter a set of horse clippers that suddenly stopped working in the middle of a clip - definitely not a good situation! Fortunately, it seems to be a simple case of th...

    Hi Simon, Sort've unrelated to this video specifically since I just wanted to address all the leather working videos you've put up on your channel but I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to make and upload these. I started doing amateur/hobby leather working very recently with some odd tools and a cheap half of untanned buffalo or whatever beastie it was and I've learnt a lot from what you have up so far. One day eventually instead of some dreary fate such as being overworked in an office cubicle I want to start my own business but It almost seems like a pipe dream at the moment since I was hoping to apprentice with someone but all saddleries and general leather workers round here (Durham) have long since vanished and even the cobblers are all getting old and closing shop and people are shook at the idea of attempting it in this economy, treating me and the craft like I'm some 14th century peasant which is frustrating but in a way understandable as its not exactly common anymore but I digress. So thank you again for uploading these and I hope you keep uploading in the future, you're very knowledgeable, informative and easy to watch and its almost crazy how the smallest things you go over help so much, such as marking a line first and then cutting 3-4 times with a Stanley knife because common sense can only take you so far when you don't have anyone to explain the most efficient way to do something and the more flashy, quick and high production channels rarely bother going over it, they just pull out their $1000 Japanese steel knife and whack it out in one go or off camera etc. All the best Averylividmoose.

    I made the mistake of buying a French bevel as my first "edge shave" - unwieldy creature for trying to do small things

    • @oaksidesaddlery
      @oaksidesaddlery 2 місяці тому

      Instead of an French bevel have a look for a edge bevel. I use a no1 on small items and a no2 on bigger stuff. If you want to take down a larger bit of leather then check out a skirt shave. They are usually used on saddle flaps and work just the same. Si

      I commonly use a gear grease. But to be honest multi-purpose grease would do.

    I don’t suppose you have a video on replacing the motor on heiniger saphir clippers? All the other bits on my clippers look good, and well greased, but still turn off after a couple seconds so think it’s more of a motor issue now :)

    • @oaksidesaddlery
      @oaksidesaddlery 10 місяців тому

      I have repaired a few of these before. The motor is a fairly easy swap. They are around £50. Next time I have a set in I'll make sure to video it.😁

    • @oaksidesaddlery
      @oaksidesaddlery 2 роки тому

      Thanks Mark. It depends on just how bad they are. I remove most of the hair whilst I am dismantling the clippers. Electrical components get a clean with an electronic components cleaner. The rest have a wash with a degreaser and hot water. Lastly I use an air line to blow everything clean. Si
