The bear mom really needed a respite from those two. Went straight to the shaded spot and just sat in the water while junior 1 and junior 2 played and explored a bit. I wonder if the water needed a disinfection afterwards or if the chlorine was enough to kill the ticks and such in bear fur that shed off.

Bears rule if they want to come into your back yard and swim there is nothing you can do about it.

At first I was like "wait, I thought they didn't have grizzlies in California" until I realized these are black bears with brown fur.

Great video. The actions of the mother are amazing to watch. When she left, she chose a spot where they could climb over the wall. She watched over the cubs almost like a helicopter parent. Incredible to see. Thank you.

Bears used to live everywhere in California before the manifest destiny migration, hence the bear on the state flag. Native people lived with several bears roaming around daily. Don't feed them or try to approach them or they will get removed from their habitat.

I don't find the cute at all. Those bears will keep coming back. It's created a very real danger for the home owners and anyone who visits. That mama will attack anyone around those babies. It can't be allowed. Unless, of course, you don't care about the people in that house or that neighborhood's safety. Bears and humans don't live together for a reason. The home owners need to get animal services involved.
