Ceart go leor.
Seo mo laethan faoi Oglach na hÉireann agus an cultúr Gaelach.
It lights the dark of this prison cell,
It thunders forth its might,
It is 'the undauntable thought', my friend,
That thought that says 'I'm right!'
Slan go fail anois...

Hi😂
This Song reminds me of a good friend of mine . ❤ we never really Broke up - i miss the Funny Times with him . Brothers for ever , in Hearts.
In my memory I will always see The town that I have loved so well Where our school played ball by the gas yard wall And we laughed through the smoke and the smell Going home in the rain, running up the dark lane, Past ther gaol (jail) and down behind the fountain, Those were happy days in so many, many ways In the town I loved so well. In the early morning, the shirt factory horn Callde women from Creggan, the moor and the bog While their men on the dole played a mother's role Fed the children and then trained the dogs. And when times got tough, there was just about enough But they saw it through without complaining For deep inside was a burning pride In the town I loved so well There was music there in the Derry air Like a language that we all could understand I remember the day when I earned my first pay When I played in a small pick-up band There I spent my youth and to tell you the truth I was sad to leave it all behind me For I learned about life and I found a wife In the town I loved so well But when I returned how my eyes have burned To see how a town could be brought to its knees By the armoured cars and the bombed out bars And the gas that hangs on to every breeze Now the army's installed by the old gas yard wall And the damded barbed wire gets higher and higher With their tanks and their guns oh my God what have they done To the town I loved so well Now the music's gone but they carry on For their spirit's been bruised, never broken They will not forget but their hearts are set On tomorrow and peace once again. For what's done is done and what's won is won And what's lost is lost and gone forever I can only pray for a bright, brand new day In the town I loved so well
What a voice.What a land it is.Ireland.
Love this version
The late THOM MOORE wrote this song and deserves credit...
Love you grandad miss you so much 😥😥😥😥
Killeshandra is where I'm from 😁😁 up cavan
This is the first time i have heard of the high kings, one of the best renditions of this song i have heard,
So lovely, I love this song so much It make my heart warm and my soul happy Thanks Darren ❤️
A French Chateau - how did that get in the race?
Chambord chateau, also a Scottish castle Eilean Donan. There are enough beautiful castles in Ireland without using those from other countries
I guess "12 miles" is easier to fit into a song than "17 kilometers!" :) www.google.com/maps/dir/Killashandra,+County+Cavan,+Ireland/Cavan,+Ireland/@53.9801171,-7.5118116,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x485e7288685a1fd1:0xa00c7a997320a00!2m2!1d-7.5282313!2d54.0138727!1m5!1m1!1s0x485e0c2d62912eeb:0xa00c7a997317270!2m2!1d-7.3633319!2d53.9897186!3e2
Great version but why a promotion for Bord Failte for the tourists Ireland? Co. Cavan could fill hours of video with it's hidden beauty. On reflection... perhaps it's best we keep it hidden and beautiful.
Such a beautiful country. Hopefully I’ll get to see it for myself.
For sure one of the best songs I ever heard and one of the best renditions of it in this version. And Pictures of Ireland to watch. It hardly gets better. Norway and Erins green Isle are the places burned in my heart like nothing else. I love it
I love the words in this song I could listen to this song every day
Lovely song, but why no Cavan scenes? There's some beautiful countryside this way!
Beautiful Country & my home town 👍☘🇮🇪💚
I can not believe just how much the rendition of this song moves me. The feelings expressed by the singer are intense. Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem sing this way as well.
So nice I love it
We have seen the Lads perform in several locations. This song always manages to tug at your heart. Darren put sooooooooo much emotion into it.
Great Song, I will return to Ireland once again, though I‘m german this is my favorite Place to be
God bless Cavan where my parents where from, this song brings tears to my eyes when I hear this song. up Mullarhoran
Every so often I stop by here to think of my mother in law. I’m not Irish but my mother in law was from County of Cavan & was very special to me. X
This song, and this version especially, makes me cry, not gonna lie.
Lovely! I've got some Irish blood in me and proud of it. Thanks for posting/sharing this.....

Erskine, Curran, and McGourty (Killashandra) from my Mother's side from Cavan. This line spread to Newry and Belfast.
The passion and power with which he sings this song is just incredible. He gets a thunderous applause every, single time he sings this song, and he deserves every, single one.
Curran and McGourty from County Cavan. I love this song.
Very beautiful song and the best group
