Why would you need to move the catenary? I work with the Railways in Germany and I cant imagine a use case for this, as it increases the cost of electrification massively

Hmm. I'm not impressed by the lack of a video camera, or distance detector, at the front of the loco, so the driver can see how close he is. I mean this stuff has been standard on road vehicles for years! 😣

At Mirfield it goes back to how it was before. (4 track before they lifted one track). Mirfield station extended to how it was in a way, with longer platform east of station lane, like it used to be, but will be more modern when done, posh shelters and lifts.

That's why my train was cancelled this morning. The ticket office in New Street Birmingham said it will take a month before the lines re- open.

Why not use catenary?

The ability to sneak up on people with that cannot be understated, I was expecting more traction motor and gear noise, that's silky smooth. Definitely different from the diesel version, but I could see a battery electric shunter like that being very handy in certain situations, like using it inside a poorly ventilated space.

Very nice! I didn't recognise it at first, but it's good to see that the front where the engine used to be housed has been removed. That will greatly improve sighting!

Would be nice to see a diagrammatic plan of the layout.

It’s Transformational.. particularly around the Ravensthorpe Station area which will be the scene of the substantial “Riverside” housing project.. I think although its is difficult to believe, as it stands, that the Riverside area will be a sort after place to live because of the beautiful agricultural/woodland area it is located and the fantastic Rail and probably bus links to pretty much anywhere
