After Jesus had separated Himself from the crowd that was "believing in Him" because of the signs He was doing, now we have a Pharisee leader coming to Him at night. Jesus doesn't hold back the truth from Nicodemus on how one must be saved. It is not by external religion, but by the supernatural work of God.

The celebration of Christmas is often done in a way that doesn't bring out the true meaning of why we celebrate Christmas. So many people don't truly know what Christmas is all about. For this reason, we preach Christ and bring Him back to the celebration of His birth.

After Jesus cleansed the temple, the Jewish authority asked Him to produce a sign showing His authority. Many today do the same thing; asking Jesus to "do something" to prove who He is. He has already done what He needs to do, and even if He did produce another sign, they wouldn't believe it.

The Apostle John now documents Jesus' first temple cleansing at the beginning of His ministry. Sadly, as the Jews of Jesus' day made worship in the temple more of a business than actual worship, the same things happens in many churches today.

It was time for Jesus' public ministry to begin, and it begins with Jesus creating His first miracle. It would be a sign to reveal who He is and bring a transformation, not only from water to wine, but in causing us to believe.

The Apostle John now gives us the account of Jesus commanding Phillip to follow Him and showing His Omniscience to Nathanael. Jesus then tells Nathanael, and us, that believers will receive supernatural insight into the things of God. Following Jesus isn't a one time thing; it is a life long thing.

The Apostle John now brings us to the first time 2 individuals follow after Jesus at the direction of John the Baptist. Jesus asked a very important question of the 2 disciples of John the Baptist, even though He knew the answer already. "What do you seek?" The same question should be asked of us.

After describing John the Baptist's refusal to take any glory for himself, the Apostle John now quotes John the Baptist in pointing people to Jesus as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of those who put their faith and hope in Him.

The Apostle John tells of John the Baptist's testimony of Christ. He does not take any glory for himself, but points all glory and honor to The One that deserves it. A great lesson for all today.

The Apostle John finishes out the prologue for the entire Gospel of John, bringing back to our attention the great mystery of mysteries; that God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and that all truth and grace is found in Him.

The Apostle John, after speaking on John the Baptist being used for God's purpose, as all Christians are, now shows us that the True Light, Jesus Christ, shines so that His children can see and come to know Him.

The Apostle John now goes from Jesus, the Son of God, to a mere man, John the Baptist. Apostle John is making sure that we know that John the Baptist sought no glory for himself or notoriety, but to only point the way to The One who saves souls.

The Apostle John continues his description of exactly Who Jesus is. He describes Him in these verses as the Co-Existent Creator and also as the Self-Existent Life.
