There has been a heap of discussion in some Facebook groups about GVM/GCM upgrades for Landcruiser 300s and other 4x4s, whether it is for towing caravans, or building a go-anywhere self-contained vehicle. This is an extremely important subject matter because of the legalities should a person be involved in an accident, and as you have stated, whether insurance covers their vehicle. There are also a lot of so-called 'know-it-alls' (non-professionals) in these Facebook groups offering incorrect advice to those of us with less knowledge of what we should/shouldn't do, without knowing the purpose of the proposed upgrade - each owner's situation is different.
