May I add why someone would feel guilty for carrying on with your life once your pet died (as it is said here, if we passed earlier, we would want our pet to be happy). Because we are responsible for the life of our pets, sometimes their sickness and death as we make all the decisions so we have never been equal in the phsycial world. This means that if you contributed to their death, you may feel guilty as you would feel guilty if you contributed to the death of a person. So we are, on planet earth, no equal, we have way more much responsibility for our pets than they have for us. This is why I think the "your pet would want to to be happy once they died" is not so simple.

When you adopt a dog who spent time in multipe foster homes, let them know that this is their forever home. I remember when I told that to my dog, he looked at me in amazement and started treating me like I was his mom. So sweet wish i did it sooner. ❤

My dog used to be so afraid. One day i was explaining to my daughter that we are going to hear fireworks and he never got nervous that day. He used fo kiss and scratch me all night. I think he was trying to calm me down. Aww poor guy was really only worried about me ❤

I felt so bad. One day i picked up my blind dog without telling him. I could tell he was scared and even got a little sea sick. After that I always made sure to tell him i was going to pick him up. Poor guy 😢 😢

My Jack Russell was blind and was holding on to life, God gave me the feeling like i needed to adopt a new dog because he did not want to leave until he got to meet and train the new dog because we have a female retired research beagle who does not bark. We ended up adopting one of the retired research beagles from Virginia... The funny part is that I feel like my Jack Russell asked for s dog that would understand what our beagle went through. He trained the new puppy and died two months later, when the puppy was acting perfect.. both beagles birthdays are 11 years and 1 day apart. They love each other and he is always kissing her face and watching over her when they are in the yard together just like my Jack Russell would watch over her. So sweet ❤

We had a Jack Russell who was about 6 pounds. He had two big spots on both sides of his rib cage. My husband tried picking him up from the butt (scooping) he did not like it because his hips were weak. I could clearly hear him say in my head, pick me up from my spots which was basically picking him up by his rib cage and my husband tried it and he let him. So that was the only way he let us pick him up. He would turn around so his butt was facing us. He would wag his tail and kiss daddy each time he picked him up this way. Like he was telling daddy, you did great. ❤

We have lots of bagged treats but my dogs really love peeled snd chopped apples, cucumbers peeled and seeds removed, cooked carrots, and pieces of cheese cut from blocks. It is good for their teeth and helps their gut. I rotate what I feed them and I let them pick what they want... Their clear favorite snack is the cucumbers... They pick that the most.
