We manage CARES - the Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme. We give communities, businesses and other organisations advice and funding in all aspects of local, renewable energy.
CARES gives communities, businesses and other organisations free, expert and impartial advice and support - including tailored funding packages - to get renewable energy projects up and running.
Local development officers are based across Scotland and are on hand to help you develop your local renewable energy project from start to finish - from initial planning through development and funding applications, right up to and beyond the launch.

Webinar: Structures for community shared ownership with Burness Paull
Shared ownership gives community groups the chance to make an investment in a commercially owned renewable energy project.
At this online event, Burness Paull talked through the advantages of different types of structures for setting up a body to invest. This will give you a good understanding of why groups sometimes set up a Company, a Community Benefit Society, or other types or organisation for shared ownership.
Webinar originally broadcast on Wednesday 27 March 2024.
