Historic Video from 1920's Detroit.
The daughter of the young girl in the video would like know as much as possible about the people and places on the video. The knowns are the yacht and a quick appearance by Edsel Ford. Any info would be most appreciated.

Obviously Gross Pointe Woods or Dearborn MI.
Lovely...... What would they think of today's world?
Eleanor and Edsel Ford. The little girl is Josephine Ford. The house is The Ford house of Grosepointe Shores.
That little girl is so cute.
Not sure but the home looks like it could be in the Indian Village neighborhood. Once of of the top 2-3 richest neighborhoods in Detroit along with Boston Edison and believe it or not once Brush Park. These people had money. Not your average everyday Detroit neighborhood.
Rich WASP life.
@ 8:00 This woman resembles Delphine Dodge, unconfirmed, but it does resemble her, same smile. The man at 9:17 definitely looks like Joseph B. Schlotman of Grosse Pointe, The Schlotman's purchased a yacht from Mrs. Horace Dodge after Horace Dodge's death in December 1920. Horace was building a new yacht for himself which is now in Monaco, he died before it was completed and his widow held onto it until 1967. Schlotman bought the yacht in this film in 1922. This film might be when the Schlotmans bought the yacht in 1922. The Schlotman and Ford families had a relation to each other through marriage, however, it is not the Ford automotive family. The yacht and more information are here as well as the Stonehurst estate. www.gphistorical.org/stonehurst/stonehurst3a.html
Fantastic historic footage! Thank you for sharing.
I would like to know what kind of dog that is. not sure it's kinda wierd
How disgusting and racist, today's diverse Detroit is much better.
Bullshit..
Quite correct. Good catch!
Yacht in the clip is the Stellaris, originally built for Edward Ford as the Caroline. Sold to Mrs. H.E. Dodge when it became the Delphine. Later sold to Edward Ford's niece, Stella, who renamed it Stellaris. The first house has nothing to do with Edsel and Eleanor Ford; it is the Edward Ford home in Wyandotte.
Interesting- found some photos of it elsewhere and more stories.
The first minute shows the house and grounds of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores. I know this because I was on the very grounds of that house yesterday.
I was thinking this must be outside Detroit Proper I’m pretty familiar with the homes here and could not place it anywhere.... If it would have been , it would been in Palmer Woods specifically those fisher Mansions but it wasn’t one of those ( in that area ) There aren’t any other areas that have homes of that style
This is quite a jem. I may have some answers for you. Do you have any other films that have been converted to video like this
