Living El Salvador
Приєднався 1 чер 2024
We had everything we dreamed of in Canada. Our dream house, great work, successful growing business, family and friends which we left behind, to move to El Salvador for a healthier, slower and free life.
We are sharing our experiences, dreams, plans, failures, struggles and beauty of our life in El Salvador.
Hello, my name is Joanna. I was born in Poland, which I left when I was 14 years old to move to Canada in 1990, where I met my lovely husband, Alex (born in El Salvador). We have 2 boys (22 and 25 years old).
Our journey started in 2007, when we came to El Salvador with our boys (age 5 and 7 ) for the first time and I fell in love with it.
In 2009, we made the big and final move to sell and get rid of everything in Canada and move to El Salvador. In 2011, we have lost everything. Because of difficult and unexpected circumstances, we have been going/moving back and forth since then.

When you come to El Salvador, you can expect to see black burned sugar cane falling from the skies, especially if you live nearby sugar cane fields. This is a safe and regular process of burning sugar canes, but it sure does make a big mess in your home. #elsalvador #lifestyle #abroad #expat #moving

I fell in love with El Salvador, since the first time I went there, in 2007. I love the tropical weather all year round, I love the happy people, the fresh tropical fruits and the culture. The lifestyle in El Salvador is just so different and it's a lifestyle that we want. Simple, but happy life. #elsalvador #lifestyle #life #food #living #moving

Wow 2006-2017 were literally the worst years in all Salvadorian history, more worst than the Civil War If you made it through that your family deserves immediate citizenship
@@FlyingNazgul-wm1dv I like that. I agree. I deserve the immediate citizenship😉 We actually bought a shirt for my boys, when they were still little, with saying "I survided El Salvador"
Tomatoes need lots of sun, nice that you grow some vegetables
@@2sexy4u2100 yes. Tomatoes need lot and lots of sun. I love gardening, and I am trying to grow my veggies and fruit, but our soil is pretty bad in our backyard and not enough sun because of all the fruit trees.

Hi there, I am one of your fans and I like your videos from New El Salvador. Can you also go to the Agro markets in El Salvador and purchase groceries to see how it is, thank you.

Watching you beautiful video is a blessing. Can you please share weather conditions for february month? I am from South Africa and will be visiting in El Zonte for 2weeks as of end of January. You have gained a new subie in me❤
@@noma97842 hello all the way to South America👋🙂 That's amazing to see people from all around the world coming to El Salvador and watching my videos, which I really appreciate😍 February is summer season already, so it gets pretty hot, especially on the coast. The weather pretty much stays around 32°C everyday. It doesn't rain either. Hope that you will have an amazing time in ES, El Zonte. Exciting😃
I tried some aloe vera juice from the store and I love it. How do you make yours? I have one small plant that I could transplant into a bigger space to see it grow big like yours. I brought seeds from Canada too LOL.
@@hagenaarsfamily I peel the skin off and cut the aloe jell into small squares and soak it it water for about 30 minutes. I rinse it and then I just drink it with aloe vera juice from the store. Sometimes we'll drink it just with water but you can taste the bitterness. When you cut the leaf, make sure you soak or wash the yellow/greenish gooey slime of, because it's toxic. Hope that you will have a better luck with planting than me. I have too much shade in my backyard and the soil in my backyard is also bad.
@@LivingElSalvador ok thank you. I do have sun in my tiny back yard but you are right, the dirt is awful. I bought dirt for pots and I thought maybe I could plant some seeds directly into the ground around our trees but the ground is rock hard. It is like there is no organic matter anywhere to make compost even though leaves and fruit have fallen before we knew what to do with the papaya. Even in my pots the ground had gone hard. Where can you get loamy black earth around here, Vidri's or Freund?
We still haven't gotten to try pan con pollo, hopefully soon, my friends wanted to come over and make it for us. Happy New Years to you too.
@@hagenaarsfamily they are really good, even though people make them a bit different by addiding different veggies, but we like all the ones we've tried. Happy New Year!🙂🇸🇻🙏
