Working our Nokota Mare "Lady Smoke" in the round pen. Those are the very first step of the training process, gaining feet control to gain trust and respect, and let the horse allow us to approach. This mare does not yet allow to be haltered or approached. More on www.nokota-ranch.com

Right On Pat!
The Nokota has a very special soul I believe they come to people they choose . Living with the Native peoples side by side must have led to the personality that is so unique as they seek to bond like no other breed. ( if treated with respect and love) .
what?
Nice
Was that Brandon I bought that baldie horse
Yes that was him :) the video was recorded in 2010
wow
I'm amazed I was born and bred horse, had my first horse when I was two and I have never seen anything like these beautiful creatures!!
Je me souviens encore des photos du poulain dans la neige ^^! Il a bien évolué, on dirait qu'il va avoir la silhouette féline de son père :) !
Calme et efficacité, que demander de plus ?! :)
Seems so easy ! :3
I genuinely don't understand why people get so hot under the collar about all this. If you don't like a particular horse trainer or don't approve of their methods don't watch the videos. There is a huge range of horsemanship styles to choose from today: classical to NH. As long as neither horses nor humans are coming to any harm then surely there isn't a problem.
not what i was looking for when i typed snowwolf in but very nice horses they look very well.
very well done! I have the same problem, always another Nokota that will irritate the one you are working with ; )
Hein :-O !
Magnifiquement!
Love this!
I could hop on my dressage horse and do the same thing. Training is training. Weight and seat aids are weight and seat aids. There are points at which the horse does show displeasure (notice the ears).
This would be a lot better with music
Wow. How ignorant of you.
This is what im trieing to achieve atm! absolutely brillant! :'D
Pretty cool video! I love Nokota's they really show you how well horses do in the wild, no stalls, no blankets, natural everything. The Nokota experiance changes you in many ways, they make you dispell old ways of thinking that aren't helpful, they make you re evaluate how you treat your horse and what you think of your horsemanship. They make you look at yourself and great things come of it.
I read of these horses in Wetern Cowboy mag. I would love one in my stable
It's too bad, everybody doesn't do like hime ! Pat Parelli, the true horsemanship !
amazing
Nice moves & well enjoyed :-) Thow it looks way too warm there, even if green ;-)
this is so beautiful!
Almira, I love this video, well done. Ronda
What a good horse. Beautiful riding :)
that s the ultimate respect between a horse and its rider...amazing!
You are the best!
@KathyTheGhost and u look like an idiot
Woow! This is when i mean that sompheting is beatiful! I love it! but how can you learn it to your horse?
i like this! look at 0:42 when the horse spins around, if you look to the tail you see the horse does not like this very much, but he does it for his rider. pat doesn't force him to do so, and the horse could easily buck him off his back but he didn't do that. that shows the trust and cooperation of the horse.
I´ve never seen such a brilliant rider!!Love him ♥
fantastico !!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand why such parlor tricks are found so impressive. I'd rather watch Shawn Flarida ride a reining pattern than watch this.
Clinton Anderson is the man..! I don't like his personality, He comes across rude. But his training for horses speaks for itself. The proof is right there in your face. This parelli guy is a lot of show. Smoke and lights. I can do what parelli does. Not because I am some awesome horseman. But because I am a good horseman. And the main reason..! Is because I have studied, And researched, I have watched video after video on how a horses mind works. What makes them tick. What makes them scar
Where do you think Clinton learned it all. Pat Parelli in Australia,, back in the day when Pat traveled to Australia and did clinics all over. Clinton was probably just learning to walk then. This video is over 30 years old, no one was doing this back then, except Troy Henry, Tom Dorance and their students.
fantastico! ...ma se gli fa una sgroppata... Parelli vola!

@wolfsvain2 Interesting!
@mariahcarrot1, The spurs aren't used to cruel the horse, they are an artificial aid to guide the horse. Spurs are often frowned upon as some people use them the wrong way (ie literraly kick the horse with the spur rather than rubbing the horse or squeezing them with the spur.) They should only be used as a sterring aid not a get up and go aide.
@TheFreedomhorses, this horse is built for these kinds of manouvers. That's why you see mostly Quarter Horses or short and stocky horses at rodeos and very few thouroughbred types (tho here in oz I've seen people use thouroughbred for barrel racing) and if your going to diss rodeo, know what your talking about, because those are reining moves more than rodeo moves.
No bridle, no saddle ... 4" spurs ... how come the spurs are ok? They hurt ...
@AppaLoosa25 Clinton Anderson is a good horseman, but I met him in person and he training with dominance and control in mind. He did good with his lasso and carrot stick but his big thing that stuck out was when they got out of reach of his carrot stick he had no control over them, and when he didn't have the carrot stick with him they paid him no mind. I don't fault anyone who tries him, but I know several people who tried him and saw the same results he did. No carrot stick or lasso no respect
pat parelli is great and all but i still think Clinton Anderson is the top Natural Horseman...
Clinton learned it all from Pat, haven't you noticed he copies Pat almost word for word, he is just not refined though like Pat. Pat is a Master, Clinton is an High School teacher.
