Wes Jackson said…he was “born and raised in a small town in Alaska teaches you a few things. One I found thats true no matter where you grow up, is that life is packed full of journeys. One journey I will never forget is the Raptor build I just completed. Showcasing a truck at Sema was just a pipe dream 2 years ago, life-long dream if I’m being honest. Never did I expect an invite from Chris Pa...

My parents are Bill and Betty Page. So cool that this video unexpectedly crossed my feed and my mom is featured in it! Love this!!❤
I worked there 98-01. 2000 and 2001 were Woody’s first years as second in command to John Jorgensen.
This is my grandpa! He still makes stuff like this all the time
Can't here a word your saying with the music
this gave me a massive smile this morning! What a joyful "competition"! I would love to be there one day.
That's a lot...
I didn't know you were an anthropologist. That's my favorite subject. Cross cultural communication. That's how I learned tolerance. Wow
I miss Janelle
Cool guy who respects his elders ! He took me to a place on the kasilof beach area a tribe used to live at and told a story of a special bear that was buried there in the old days
My mother came from Karluk village on Kodiak Island and is from the Reft family 🙂
I love our cultures of our State ❤️
Our games are not just games....it's our way of life
I liked this style of fishing!
I Last worked here in 2004. Woody was the plant manager at the time. I wonder if he’s still there…………been living in Hawaii ever since but always miss that place and the people I met
He retired last summer from what I heard, and Jaime is running the cannery currently. However, since they didn't have workers when covid hit they haven't been processing fish or halibut and this summer they were sending their halibut processing machines back to Kodiak so they are currently no longer processing halibut anymore. And man I tell you it's a ghost town without the workers there, there's a few people who keep it operating like paperwork or other things.
Hydro would be the most reliable and cheapest way to go, could even do a insulated mechanical gravity battery for winter months combine with a small solar farm you could over power the area, be set for future growth
Alaskans look like Mongols a lot. Guess they came from northern Asia passages to America.

Wow! So much information in just a few minutes of video! Well done! Good luck with your energy projects!
Who are the singers and dancers from 13:17 until 24:00?
Pamyua
...and their mum (dancing)
Slightly misleading to say the kasilof historical society is actually representing anything but white settlers. They don't have any examples of native dwellings just white settlers
I'm from The Kenaitze Indian Tribe
What a great video thanks for sharing your Knowledge
Is there any way that we can still get copies of the film? My husband's copy on VHS is almost worn out, so I'd love to get a second copy for him.

At the 630 min mark that is a true statement why is the other side catching and not me? I thought it was a me thing! Now I know thanks nice video!
I've had the privilege to meet the dancers in Bethel Alaska for Camas festival as our dance group was also there. Only one I remember is Mary....
Hi Woody, were you there in the 80s? My family stayed there for a few years.
There should be something like this for Aborigines And Torres Strait Islanders in Australia

my mom was born in Sheldon Point now known as Nunam Iqua shes had the strongest hand grip even more than much larger men, she was an ass kicking woman in Brightmoor detroit when it came down to being beat up or being the winner of a fight
my mom always kept her upbringing to her heart,
I'm so glad to hear you and Sasha are doing well. The match made in Heaven😘🐾👣
Well done, Robin!!
Who writes a letter to the president to lie about natives waisting meat. If it was the white man it would be easier to just not say anything. I will wait 6 months to lie to the president of the united states and hope in a year i'll get my response. Never trust a Marxist.
Actually Natives do things like this all the time. Stop putting them on a pedestal.
Bull honkyboy.
I did a tour there for whole summer and managed to never touch a fish! Wards Cove 2002 Greenhorn, first and only year! Working 110 hours a week wasn’t my thing!
Thank you for your kind comments Sasha is really special, Betsy
after 10,000 years apart.. Russian natives have the same moves.

I never seen my ancestors once waste any sort of subsistence they ever captured in my life. Especially since this is all the food source that was available to my people. We as my own people, preserve as much as we can for our children to grandparents along with other family members.
I believe that part is bull , they would be the ones to waste .
Love it, thanks for sharing
My good friends father, Dana Jacallen built that small sternwheeler all from items discovered at the dump. An old Toyota 3TC engine found among other things at the community trash depot...he rebuilt it and lapped the valves, experimented with various paddle wheel design and configurations...when he finally broke 12 knots he was pretty stoked. Fond memories of riding around in that boat in my youth.
Hahah omggg I can see my mom and dad in the back my moms holding a camera 😂
