Power outlets fix Lexus LX 470
Переглядів 3 тис.6 років тому
This video shows how I fixed broken power outlets in a 2002 Lexus LX470(The same applies to Land Cruiser and other model years). All the three broken outlets shown in the video are controlled by the same 15 Amp fuse #43. The fourth power outlet(front driver side) is actually a cigarette lighter and has its own different fuse.

Thank you - a simple enough job, but without seeing how to do it the possibilty to break the lamp is horribly high so you saved me a lot of bother.

Thank you for posting this video. Saved me a ton of headaches trying to do this very procedure on my honda. Tech at the auto parts store told me I needed to remove all of the rear hatch trim to get access from the inside... Sooo glad I watched your video first and didn't do that :-)

I think a lot of Honda engineers didn't finish work properly - on how to replace the light bulb in the back because they drank a lot of sake and then sake.

I had the same problem, the left nut was missing. So I have put a new one and tighten both (without glueing them) and it works.

Mine is a Kitchen Aid Pro Line. It was making some noise, when moving the speed control, the noise changes a little. Following your recomendations, because of its simplicity, I checked the back of my Kitchen Aid and surprise... The right nut was loose, and the left one was missing, fortunately I found it. I remove the nut, apply some glue to the bolt and then tighten both nuts and PROBLEM SOLVED (almost any glue will work, I prefer contact glue) Thank you for posting the solution in this video. Hope my comment help any one also.

From what I have learned watching other videos is that you should not over tighten (just snug) the nuts and, more importantly, make sure they are uniformly tightened. To assure the nuts stay put they should have the twisted internal tooth locking washers under them or be secured with loctite, otherwise vibration may cause them to loosen. The end housing that the two nuts secure contains the bearing housing for the back end of the armature shaft. Obviously the armature shaft needs to turn freely on the bearing and must be held on center between the two outside field coils. If the housing is canted one way or the other because of uneven tightening (or one nut coming loose) it may cause the bearing to bind on the shaft and/or the armature may be moved slightly out of center between the field coils causing vibration.
