Does the arching of the current when you turn off the isolator cause damage to the isolator? If so, would it be better to just not include the isolator in the system and just rely on the DC circuit breaker?

Ok, can catch fire. Explain how. If succeed correctly there should be no problem. They have magnetic and thermal protection and an arc extinguisher.. Pretty safe to use... Use the correct DC breaker and now an AC type. Wire the polarity right. I use these all the time..

In this case it is just being used as a isolator switch and the capacity of it is probably too high to provide protection.

For those who are electrical noobs like me, the quick fix to an overloaded circuit is to check your power box - you'll notice that most should be switched one way or the other (up or down...I think the standard is for them to be switched up for on, but not 100% sure if this is always the case), except for the main switch and one other. That one other non-main switch is the one that you want to switch back (this is the circuit breaker switch that would have triggered when you overloaded). Once you do this, your power should be working again, provided that you've unplugged or switched powerpoints for the appliance that overloaded it to begin with

Please don't take these videos so personal everyone has a right to make their video and say what they want and honestly it doesn't matter if it a she or a he what matters to me is the correct information we don't have to start something where there's nothing! He probably wasn't even thinking like that so please stop being overly sensitive we need to mature and stop trying to start something with people you should really check yourself. It's annoying when theres people like you who always have something negative to say about the videos or just trying to talk about genders his video is not about him or her it's about electricity please be mature about these situations and keep your negative comments to yourself grow up in not trying to be mean but pleaseeee let the guy do his video you wouldn't like for people to do the same to your videos so just relax it's not a big deal.
