Finally decided to build a backyard observatory with a roll-off-roof. Documenting the process in the hopes it might help others wade through the process.

How do you like the SVX130T?
Thanks for sharing your plans. An Ethernet connection will be more stable and faster than relying on wi-fi but good luck with your endevour.
Why not have the filter wheel mounted on the other side?
Any updates on this??!?!
Nice video. Thanks for all the information.
You crossed the rectangle so you wouldn’t later get confused if the observatory should be inside or outside the lines 😂
Hi! Any issues with oil from the peltier cooler thermal paste getting on the sensor? I hear there is a huge problem with the 2600 camera.
Following along!
Scissor trusses will eliminate your clearance problem.
Very helpful to see your plannings for my own planned observatory in our backyard. Only one thing: I would always install a LAN cable. If you install the power line, it is almost no additional cost an work.
I feel bad about cutting the tree down… why don’t you trim them half way and do it once a year
Can’t wait to see the final result
Since you're trenching for the power I'd put the ethernet cable in anyway, even if it's unterminated. The cable isn't very expensive and it's always there if you want it.
Robert Nick huh
I really enjoyed this video! You didn't mention how much it cost you to remove the trees, or did you remove them yourself? Looking forward to seeing the next video!
Great video. I've been considering my own observatory.
Nice idea's, gives me some :) Thanks.
Good job, thank you!
Thanks Robert for this great video. I'm currently going through this same thought process in downsizing from a C11 EdgeHD to this SVX130T and had all the same reasons you specified for picking a new scope. I currently have a Sony full frame mirrorless camera with the same sensor as the ASI2400MC which I plan on using and gives good image sampling at the native focal length and allows me the flexibility in the future to invest in something like your ASI6200MM when I have the resources to do so and still give me good sampling.
Amazing video, thanks for putting in the time and work to make this! I followed along the entire video as I just took my first ever shots with a mono camera (LRGB) so far so good. I knew it would be more involved than a OSC camera in regards to pre/post processing but I never expected this much. Clear skies!
Glad it helped!
Спасибо огромное за такой подробный анализ системы охлажления камеры. Очень нужна была эта информация. Нашёл только у вас.
Glad it helped.
Thanks for the video. Did you make a video on how you focused your telescope and OAG?
Focusing is in the works. Check back in another couple of weeks
really helpful video. Thanks a lot for sharing man :)
Glad it helped
