if you practice freehand and can get good at it, you will save a lot of time without having to use painters tape to get nice straight lines, This will take some time to get good at, but soon it will feel very easy once you are comfortable with the brush. I would suggest buying a 2 inch brush and make sure you get one that the pros use, just ask them at the store what painter use the most and bu...

I am amazed that paint is covering the dark wall! Is it kilz or an actual paint?
@JodyLSumrall it's actually paint, however that did require 3 full coats to cover the darker color
@@TheCanadianHomePainter As a teen I painted my room purple with a black accent wall. My poor parents put 2 coats of kilz to cover it before they could put a new color. Maybe kilz wasn't perfected yet (many many years ago)! Now I am searching for the perfect Periwinkle. Love the channel.
You are surgical with that 2 inch brush mate,we appreciate your contents here in The beautiful Bahamas
Haha thanks , I I suppose it's the years of doing it lol I have never been to the Bahamas, I would love to go there one day, it looks so beautiful
For best results, use Durabond 90, not EasySand.
lay it on with brush smooth it out with a mini roller ??>?>?>::":":
That’s simple on a non textured repair
You filming on a blackberry?
How are you mate, was that yellow tape frog tape? What's your take on caulked the tape before cutting in???
@renostubbs8504 hey all is well, yes that's the yellow frog tape. Personally I've never caulking the tape, I have seen videos where they do and it looks good I've just never done it that way
@@TheCanadianHomePainter thanks mate, appreciate your honesty and feedback, enjoy your weekend.
I appreciate you and all your videos mate, just a little more audio

Nice work brother
@@user-nz9ek7ye3z thank you 😊
Oh wow, it looked like the trim was above you, weird! Must have been a slow day for me haha!!
How many coats of primer did you need to cover the orange before paining? I have an orange wall that I'm looking to change to a light cream colour.
@@kyliec3034 it just took 1 coat of bullseye 123 primer, and then 2 coats of sico paint
@@TheCanadianHomePainter awesome thank you 👍
Questions, 1) After how long I can start doing tapping? 2) after pre filling do we need to do sanding Thank you!
The sheetrock 90 dries pretty fast, and yes it doesn't hurt to give it a bit of a sanding to smooth it put before applying your tape, You should be able to tell if it's dry when you start sanding, if it's still wet you will see that on your sanding block
How are you hanging/suspending the quarter round?
Haha they are resting on saw horses
Don’t tell us the primer is you used we don’t need that info. And prime the whole thing you have the brush out.
BIN for the WIN! ☝️ Prime that everything if you are going stain to paint, not only knots!
Thank you, it works and turns out perfect 🙂
You're very welcome 😊
Finish carpenter here but occasionally finish my work. Im by no means a professional finisher lol. I am finishing a 2x6 whitewood header board for sone huge barn doors I made and the spruce does have quite a few knots. I hit it with BM Stix primer but im not sure how this would do with the knots. I normally have a gallon of Zinnzer but I couldnt find it. Guess ill run out and grab a quart. Have you ever used the Stix primer?
Soft fern and chantilly lace… nice. (I’m just guessing because I’ve been staring at it for days 😅)
I have painted white baseboard knots bleed thru already any solution to fix it?
I have a question what kind of sand peepe do you like to use because I definitely need one of those 😂
Did you clean the walls before doing that? I have a house with heavy nicotine stains and smells, and I'm not sure if I should hire someone to clean it before I paint.
Thatsbgonna bleed thru bullseye 123 lol
I have been learning a lot from your video. Thank you for such amazing paint projects❤
I'm glad to hear that. It's always nice to know my videos are helpful 😌
Nice and straightforward video to help me in 2024. Thanks for the video handy Jim Halpert 😅
My trim is oak so its going to be difficult.
Orbital sander with a shop vac attached and 120 grit sand paper does an amazing job. Took about 15 minutes to get rid of the lines.

Your videos are the best! Im a huge fan of your work😊
I really appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching my videos. ❤️
I love that chicken sm
how many hours did this take ?
can you post a link to that brush ?
what size brush is that ?
I saw someone profiling his butt joints with the quick set, then coming back and taping later with mud. Is that what you do? Or do you tape with quick set to ?
Have you found that is also works well to block the fragrance smell when someone used a plugin air freshener? I know it can be challenging... I'm dealing with a large home that had multiple plugins....
Good info thx
Smooth work…
How long do you stir wood stain paint
I just used some yesterday and stirred about 1/4 of the amount this guy did and it came out horribly. I’m going to have to sand it and restir and redo it today, which is what brought me to this video lol. I would do at least as long as he did
'promo sm'
What did you use?
Holy cow. You make it look easy.
Thanks 😊 that was my dad helping me that day
I respect your effort and willingness to achieve a straight line above the baseboard. However, in my practice of residential/commercial painting over 30-year periods, I have never met one painter doing cuts this way. In a production setting when there is never enough time, we do not tape at all - all cuts are done by hand and the results are pretty good. The lines are perfect whether you finish the wall first or the opposite - the first baseboard and the wall after. Same with lines around door or wall trims.
This is for the dyier the home owner that just needs some tips, I'm not making these videos for the professionals lol
👍👍
What products did u use
Bullseye 123 primer
Thank you so much for this video! Been filling up big gaps this afternoon
