Time will tell but Jim Curtin will have no problem getting another job.
As an LAFC fan I completely agree, Oliveira and Kamara are better at LAFC than Giroud. My front 3 is Bouanga, Bogusz, and Oliveira. Kamara is good super-sub.
Thanks for the comment! We talk more LAFC on this week's show would love a sub and listen! LAFC vs Seattle is going to be great
How new are you at soccer to think a number 9's job is to.... create chances? what's next, you gonna start complaining about how many goals Lloris has scored? god you fucking noob.... smdh
Gringos just meeting Giroud......he's always played like that😗
yeah shit is embarassing
The all-time leading scorer for France?? 🥴 Thanks for the comment and listen though, appreciate the love!
@@TheHexSoccerPodcast omg dude stop. He's one of the most classic "number 9's" to ever play the game. You wing crosses at him and he puts them in the back of the net. He's so much that guy that they don't even bother listing his assists on his wikipedia page. He's not a 10 or a 6 or an 8. He's a classic number nine. The reason he was just tearing up La Liga is because when he was at ACM he had Pulisic feeding him. That dude knows how to give good service. Because of that, EVERYONE double and triple covers him in MLS. So he's been playing basically as an inverted Giorgio Chiellini mostly drawing center backs to create space for the wingers and doing god tier hold up play. Not to mention incredible defensive work. Stop making Americans look like they have no idea when it comes to the sport of football. God you make us all look stupid when you say stuff like that. Cut it out.
@@cerebrix You should watch the full clip of what we say in the pod. We literally said he would be more effective coming on in the second half and that proved to be the case on Friday.
Finally! Some real MLS commentary. The MLS commentator dick riding is unbearable. You’re right. I Loved Giroud at Arsenal, and he has a play style that doesn’t match our team. Every time he’s on the field, he sits at the top begging for the ball and throws a fit when he doesn’t get it. Not hustle back on defense, no supporting build up on offense, and not even real runs in behind on counter attacks. Just standing 🧍🏻♂️ with the defensive line for 90 minutes hoping he gets a short pass he can one touch into a decent opportunity.
Let’s goo bro good call
Giroud just finishes the goals he needs good players surrounding him to preform his best
Sort of fair. He is a finisher, but LAFC aren’t a team built for a poacher like Giroud. And that’s not a knock to him, loved him at Arsenal, and there is a team type that fits him. It’s just not LAFC. Bale was successful with us because he could CREAT OPPORTUNITIES like this guy says!
Giroud is quality, even if he is the best part of 40. I think the reality is, that LA's problem is just generally all being shite
Stupid comment. Reminds me of the shit announcers for MLS. Blind general excuse with now real team knowledge. LAFC have tons of quality players that gel well together.
They literally got 1st in the west
@@dannymaldonado4403 Being the least shit, in a league full of shit teams is nothing to be proud of. Giroud is 100x the player than anything USA has ever produced
Giroud didn’t start the playoff game!
For good reason
Hmmmmm guess I knew something!
The cash grab here is ridiculous and the 3 game format is stupid. Its criminal that Puig and company have to wait so long for their next match. I don't even like the 2 game/aggregate setup. 1 game elimination for football and soccer is enough. Also, the NBA and MLS should be ashamed... there's too many teams in the playoffs/postseason. And I'm an Atlanta fan!
Thanks for the comment! I think for most scenarios it just needs to be more difficult to force a game 3. There should have to be at least one outright win by each team
Can Atlanta United finish the job over Inter Miami??
Atlanta’s going to shock the world!
Let's go 5 Stripes! F.E.A.
MLS Playoffs - Week One - WHAT A JOKE. Have the games broadcast where people can watch them. People will not pay for MLS on Apple+ to watch the games.
Yet they lost !!
Thanks for the comment! We'll see what happens in game 2!
Nothing against Nico or anything about him, I just think Austin could've gone in a direction that, like Jon said, could have been a bit more of a different move.
I appreciate you guys giving Orlando a fair analysis. I dont mind critiques of the team, but it feels like a lot of people look over/down upon Orlando. Hopefully, we can make a good run and put on a show for the playoffs.
There's absolutely no reason to look down on Orlando, they've quietly flown under the radar and would give Miami a VERY close challenge in a one game playoff. Thanks for the comment and give us a sub!
As a European who enjoys the parody and diverse team range of the MLS, I am genuinly curious about the perspective of an American on this: When Americans say the Supporters Shield doesen't matter because it's an "unbalanced schedule", to me I don't see how a 34 match schedule where you play 18-20/ 28 possible opponwnts is MORE unbalanced than a 18 team cup where you play 4/ 28 possible opponents and it's built in a manner that you realistically only play 1-2 teams that is the same level as yours. As for the MLS playoff Format I feel like I could get more invested in it or live with it as a European if less teams make it (maybe 6-7 teams per conference) and all rounds except the final are best of 3 series. Reason why: 1. Less chances of the CUP being decided by flukes. 2. It would actually feel like each team who makes it earned it as it's less than half the teams in my format (12-14 teams rather than 18) 3 because it's harder to qualify for the playoffs, I can hype myself up by saying the regular season is like qualifying for the Champions League and the MLS playoffs is like the Champions League. Sorry for the lobg message but I enjoy the discourse around this.
Fred, thanks so much for the message! Very very fair points, thanks a bunch for listening and supporting the league too!
Arman really said Cinci...
4th subscriber here. You guys chill, we just lost to L tri but it’s our B/C team. Still too early to calculate
Thanks for watching and the comment! Yeah we'll talk about it next week but plenty to learn ahead of bigger games in November! -Daniel
