1964 Lotus Go Kart
Up for Sale!
5 years ago I bought this 1964 Lotus Go Kart off of Craigslist. I spent countless hours doing a full tear down and restoration of this go-kart. I did a lot of research to try and find out what it would have looked like back in 1964. Here is some information I was able to find of the only other one I could find.
"In 1964, Pedwin Shoes sponsored contests in which winners received go-kart replicas of the Lotus-Ford driven by Jim Clark in the 1963 Indianapolis 500. Each kart featured a fiberglass body in Lotus green and yellow, wearing Clark's #92, with a gasoline-powered engine in the rear. Pedwin was a brand of the Brown Shoe Company of St. Louis, Missouri." so I'm working on a friends 2004 Discovery 2 he just bought, it would not pass emissions, I replaced the evap purge valve and codes went away but am now getting P1412 and P1415, hoses and everything look good, I did move the SAI solenoid in order to get the purge solenoid on, did replacing the pump fix your problem, the pump on this looks like its pretty new ? Looks like most fixes for P1412 and P1415 were replacing the SAI solenoid, have you ever replaced that ?

This series sure is jumbled up.Regardless,by this time you might have found out that the Orion Town & Country 3+1 has a 1st gear granny,2nd is like 3rd in a real toploader,3rd is 1:1 like 4th and 4th is .76.Please don't call that thing a toploader,it's embarrassing to a Ford fanatic. You should have stuck in a T5.Starting in 66,,they put a dual pattern on the back of the block. The larger pattern is the same as a small block v-8(289,302,351w).If you leave that Flamethrower coil on those stock points, you be changing them weekly.Been doing the cut log Weber thing for years, now making a 2 x Weber head, but actually been using Holley 5200 because they aren't as fussy and you can get a rebuild kit without going to the Weber cartel.

2019? Hope you got it done by now. Most driveshaft shops that want to help you will sell you a combination U-joint.Big on one side, small on the other, which will work until you get the 8" diff in.2 into 1 carb adapter?Get a grinder, open it up so that it'll breathe.Once I've opened the hole,I put 6 holes so I can run either a Holley 5200(32/36) or an Autolite 2100.With oversized stainless valves, hardened seats, slight porting, electronic ignition,a nice lumpy stick,I go looking for 289s to embarrass.

just a note, when the blower only operates on high, it's usually a leak in the climate control vacuum system. The default for safety in this case is high speed so that the windows are defrosted. Happen to mine a month ago. hose to center pod came loose and when I plugged it back in everything worked. You can test by pulling vacuum under the hood to the hose that leads to the system and if there is leakage you've most likely identified the problem(off the top of my head I believe it's the one with a green stripe).

I have a 65 Mustang with a 200I6 with a C4 auto. When I pulled the engine and had it rebuilt and had a mild racing cam installed, I fitted a 250 head with split headers with duel series 40 flowmasters (had to weld a divider port between cylinder 3 and 4) and fitted a Webber 32/36 progressive carburetor. Shortly after the rebuild a crack showed up behind the alternator and I leak radiator fluid. Now I'm looking into a 250I6 block and I want to swap my C4 auto for a T5 5 speed. I've definitely enjoyed watching this build!
