The Department of Defence has systematically for the last 40 years that I have served my country, systematically run down the importance of the nation's defence. They have essentially cancelled the broad local reach of the RDF, and reduced the number of Brigades available for our nation's defence. As for Paul Murphy, what will you do when Russians take over Dun Laoighre or some other lucrative spots in Dublin, will you expect our neighbours to jump in to help us when Russian bombers invade our airspace and we have no deterrent???
