Queen O'Day is swing/jazz master. Learn and respect her. She beyond deserves it. I'm a singer, and have no fuc*i&g clue as to how she does this. She is a one of a kind, amazing. Rest in peace Queen.

Started as a kid that knew two tunes she learned and respected musicians especially drummers and the timing over 60 years you can know how to move the pocket.

Anita is a one of a kind vocal jazz explorer, pushing the rhythmic envelope, creating her own scatting originals out of the great American songbook. Thrilling!

The Beach Bum Club in Malibu,Cal. early 1971..Anita came across as she was just starting out way back when..as it's been said with age one raised to the ultimate heights, Anita great example of a jazz innovator. T'was the tops!!! Of female jazz singers..

The connection between all four is amazing. Their timing is impeccable. Anita is such a strong leader. And they are so free, spontaneous and unselfish in their playing (including Anita). It doesn't get any better.

Georges Arvanitas was something else! If course Anita was always great but Arvanitas is seldom mentioned and without his backing her sets wouldn’t have risen to the heights they did. The Georges Arvanitas trio simply the best!!!!

Amy Winehouse appears to have borrowed liberally from Ms O’Day.

Yes I was just thinking the same thing. I'm guessing that Amy Winehouse was influenced by many of the great jazz vocalists, but you can definitely hear it here with Anita.
