I have a very high tolerance for pain, got the sedation option, and STILL cried. Got it in my cervical spine. C3-C7. Still hurts like hell 10 mins later, but praying for long term relief. My left side is in 2 weeks 🙏🏼

I was in a car accident in 2020 and broke my back. I had to get a spinal fusion from T10-L2 with 2 rods and 10 screws. Fast forward 3/12 years… I’m experiencing excruciating pain. My T10 screw is coming lose since the bone never fused correctly. On top of that my s1 joint is inflamed. I get my injection for my s1 joint at the end of the month. Then I will have to get my T10 bone and screw resolved. Wish me luck! Thank you for your video and knowledge😀

Wow! I am so glad for you, as my injury came at work outside my job description. I fix cars, period. But the boss, in 1986, who spent 3-4 months trying to hire me away from a shop 3 blocks away, lead to the is farm boy, age 28 operating a rented earth compaction machine that looked dry, but turned to mud. 5hrs latter after pulling this "Jumping Jack" out of mud, to a new location my back was sore. Shut it off drove home, told my wife and drank a beer with a Tylenol and went to sleep. Waking in the AM what felt like the worst sunburn ever. But not a sunburn as it was torn muscle tissue turned to scar tissue. 3 surgeries later, ending in a bone fusion of S1-L4, my Dr. pulled a chair and told me I could expect pain when older as arthritis starts to set in. Boy he was right in 1987. Now RFA, epidural injections, two more fusions, I was burning at 6'3" just to get tools from top drawer. Run to chair and sit. So SCS from Medtronics! Trail was great with 60-70% pain relief. Only epidural's lasted 1 1/2 days, then burning came back. Permanent implant came quick and once on, it went down both legs into my heels. Whoops! The Rep. called, I told him and things got quiet. A third attempt came 5 months later, nothing on the left, 2" away on the right and still use a cane to walk bent. The had an engineer move the stimulus but no go. Sending an email to say they could no longer be of help! Have a good life! What? I have seen 4-5 videos where the wake the patient in O.R. and the rep tries generic signals letting them reply for location. Everyone is different but they couldn't understand why I wanted this. God it was painful to lay there awake while sewing me up. No one understood! The Dr. won't even return calls. Then 20hrs of Ketamine I.V. drip out of pocket, nothing. Then todays current opioid scare, took mine away while still in pain & my GP dropped me after 27yrs. with a new pain center. Now I call in Rx and see them once every 3 months. I am put on the North 40, expected to shut up and go away! No help... I am stunned. Can mow, garden, cook, drive, work on cars, showers are hard and no opioids. This sucks.

What do I have to do if I am truly interested I know I can benefit from this I know that this is something I want to do help me please

This made my pain worse for up to 3 months. Not as bad as a Si joint injection but also very painful. Had to ice the spot for weeks. Physical therapy did help some. Now I’m back to square one. Basically didn’t do anything.

Had my intrathecal morphine injection trial 5/9/24 and a couple hours later I felt ZERO pain. I suffer from protruded discs & nerve impingement & post laminectomy syndrome. Had my laminectomy done on my L4/L5/S1 3 years ago and it lasted about 14 months & scar tissue from that surgery enhanced itself & started to wrap around my L5/S1 nerve root, pinching my nerve root, as well as that same disc starting to bulge ontop of it. Had a spinal cord stimulator trial for about a week a month before my pain pump trial that gave me no relief whatsoever. Later that same day as my pain pump trial, (5/9/24) unfortunately I suffered from urinary retention & needed to go to ER to have a bladder catheter inserted in me to drain my bladder. Ended up going home with it that night, but ended up taking the catheter out myself shortly after I got home because there was a draining issue/blockage & I was pissing outside of the catheter all over myself. As the morphine wore off the next day, my bladder function started to normalize again. My pain doctor who did the trial said it’s one of the possible side effects but he thinks it would eventually go away on its own if I decided to get the permanent device. Had to wait for my insurance company for the approval of the actual device. But I told my doctor I still wanted to go ahead & move forward in getting it because that’s the 1st time in 20 years that I’ve ever had pain relief like that! Just got the call today from my pain doctor (6/25/24) that my insurance approved it & I immediately scheduled to get the surgery this Thursday (6/27/24). I cannot wait to get that pain relief again! I’ve been on Percocet & Gabapentin for the past 2 years with little to no effect. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I don’t experience the urinary retention again, or if I do, it’ll only be temporary.. It’s a trade-off/risk I’m willing to take for this kind of pain relief. I’ll update my results after my surgery to let everyone know how it’s going. Good luck to anyone getting this surgery!

I had a bilateral ablation on May 1st of this year. It was lumbar and three on each side. The three on the right side were completely painless. As was the lower one on the left side. The center and top left hurt like I've never felt before. My Dr had to use an additional 4 Lidocaine injections just to able to finish. I don't think i will ever do this again. I trust my Dr and shecis extremely attentive. I have five different conditions in my lumbar area. This helped maybe two of them. I was out for five days after the procedure due to being in pain. I was out of work last week four out of five days with severe pain. My Dr is very concerned that i didn't get as much relief as she had hoped. She now ordered a new set of X-rays to see if anything else is going on.

I've heard mixed reviews about pain pumps. Especially for people like me who have substance use disorder and very high opiod tolerance (prescription medications, not heroin)

I'm getting my pain pump tomorrow, 6/13/24. I've been in pain management since 2001. My trial went great - felt almost no pain for the first time in 23 years. Suffering from spinal pain and cancer pain. I've had 12 operations on my spine and am battling advanced stage prostate cancer. I know it's not going to eliminate my pain but, I'm hoping to get some relief.

I had my test done yesterday it worked well I'm looking forward to this procedure next month.

I just had this done today and surprised by how well it lessened my pain. I never heard of these facet joints or those nerves before now. Hoping the second test goes just as well and then I can get the ablation, which I am told can last up to 6 months. It will be great to be able to move around normally again.

Thank you for this video. I get RFA on my neck in a couple of weeks. Previously, no one (even a neurosurgeon) told me it existed, the VA has had me jumping thru hoops for 18 months trying different therapies that failed. I'm so glad I found out about it!

I'm curious about the NO FEEL STIMULATOR

I have the nevro hfx in my back. Had it for two weeks and I never could get it set right. My wife got fed up watching me trying to work the settings. She took it from me , made an adjustment to it and now I'm pain free. Go figure.

Doctor, be careful of your neck, you tend to lean to one side.

I have hesitated to get an RFA but now that a knee replacement is on the horizon I am hoping that an RFA can be a stop gap solution. My hesitation is in regards to the amount of radiation one is exposed to. Does anyone know how many millisieverts are emitted during an RFA? If it can be done with an ultrasound, I would be on board.

Is this very painful without sedation?

I had one done in May 2019. My procedure was completely pain free, took about 15 minutes and lasted an amazing 5 years. I’m getting another procedure today.

WOW! I read about a half dozen comments about the horrible pain of this procedure. This has NOT been my experience. The initial test run hurts more than the abalation. Still i would say it is highly uncomfortable versus the horrible pain some people have described. I have had multiple ablations done over the years on 12 nerves. 3 on each side of the lower back and 3 on each SI Joint. The test procedure hurts more than the ablation. For the ablation, i have been given IV Xanax. I have a fantastic Doctor and staff.

I'm hoping you might be able to help It appears a nerve block during a rotator cuff surgery has left me with a blood clot and half of my right lung being nonfunctional.. Will not go into the specifics of the lack of response from the doctor who performed the surgery but a hospital stay was able to get me out of immmediat distress. A VERY GOOD PA was able to help me out with determing what was going on. Comparing pre op xrays and CTs he has determined half.of.my right lung is no functionimg . He researched and determined it may be necessary to have a surgeon go in and perform repair/ pressure release surgery on that chest nerve We are not able to locate a surgeon that can perform this surgery. I am close to the Dallas FT Worth area , there was a surgeon in that area who performed the surgery , but he is no longer a available (retirement??? Not sure) In any case do you have a referral of a surgeon who may be able to help and has experience with this post op /nerve block damage issue?

How is the recovery time starting day one through day 5 I'm getting ready to do the surgery but I need I'm by myself and I need to know if I need to go into a convalescent hospital or not I don't have anybody to help me and I have a dog that's pretty big and strong that I have to take out so I might have to put her in boarding I need this information I cannot find it on anywhere online so somebody can please let me know even the doctor if you read this

Tomorrow is my big day for this procedure! I had two back surgeries and neck surgeries in 2000 through 2007. In 2014 I had a left knee replacement that went bad! I ended up with nerve damage in my leg and now I have it in both legs! It has been unbearable so my pain specialist recommend this procedure! Well I am putting myself in god hands and praying this works!

What’s the price range for this procedure?

I had this done 7 weeks ago with a local anesthetic. The first 2 weeks, I had to go back because I was still in pain and was given a couple of trigger shots in the area, which kept the pain at bay for another few weeks. Let's say I'm on my way back to the Dr. to find out why I'm still in pain.

I'm going in the morning to get it done! I am in so much pain!! Thankful for this procedure🙏🏾🙂
