What is the year that released this movie

I wish this play was filmed because it was a treasure. I flew from Florida for a Matinee performance so I did not have to spend the night. Vanessa Redgrave was at her best in this and it was my first time seeing her live on stage. I saw her three years later with James Earl Jones in Driving Miss Daisy. The best actress still working now. Katharine Hepburn was asked which actress was the best coming up behind her and she said without a doubt Vanessa Redgrave. She was thinking of her because she started on the stage as Kate had, was a film star, was a strong woman and very talented in that she was classically trained to dance, sing, play the piano and act. I am sorry that she was not able to get a Grammy award since she already has the Oscar, Emmy and Tony awards. If the audio book of the play had been released when the play was done she might have gotten that Grammy. When they finally recorded it her voice was weaker and it did not make the story as good.

Great movie !!!

I went to New York to see this play and it did change my life and thoughts. It is not an easy one to watch because there is a lot of pain in it. Audible has an audiobook of Vanessa Redgrave reading the play. It is not the same as the play, but since it apparently was not filmed it would be fairly close.

Watched it yesterday. It shook me, horrified me. Vanessa was unbelievable. Being an actor I can recognize her greatness even more. I thank the makers for this film.

A cerebral, highbrow film that also packs much emotional power. The soundtrack is gorgeous, and was released on an LP in the 1980s. I wish someone would post the music for the film. Thanks for putting this up!
