I had the opportunity to drive one of these a few times, they're awesome cars. I was surprised how easy they were to steer, literally 1 finger. I always found it a little strange how they only put vinyl on the sail panels though.

I miss my dad's 68 Catalina

Beautiful LTD. We bought one new in 68. Ours was Diamond Blue (almost white) with black vinyl top, Brougham interior and a 390 cu. in. V-8. People would come up and ask, "is this car white or is it blue?" What a car! For 14 years and over 150 k miles it carried our family through dark valleys and wonderful mountain tops. Even though it was whisper quiet while running, it could get up and hall ass with the touch of a big toe on the accelerator.
