so i am five months late as i had this saved in my watch later and completely forgot about it but WOOHOO i enjoyed this analysis so much! i dont have much to say in terms of anything wise or helpful but i wanted to express my gratitude anyway bcuz witch’s heart is so so SO underrated and not many people talk about let alone for an hour straight and let me tell you i really like talking about witch’s heart so i was throughly engrossed the entire time. i also really enjoy seeing other people’s perspectives of aspects of the game that are more vague; having played through witch’s heart at least 5 times there are still some things that confuse me or i just miss entirely. i think ill leave it at that but thanks again for the video and i can’t wait for sirius’s route!

wow an hour long review of just 1 chapter , what dedication.... 9:27 >do you think they kiss?- >-what? lololol 10:56 i always thought it was funny how this frame makes it look like zizle is drooling lol i actually ended up choosing wilardo's scenario first , it was a benefit to my early play experience of it because i didn't click elsewhere so i didn't find out that sirus's and noel's scenarios actually were locked , so i spent a good amount of time deliberating on who's story i wanted to see while thinking what information would it reveal to me in hopes of avoiding being told too much that i could figure out the secret of the witch's heart/mansion that combined with me choosing to trade rooms with ashe on the first night and getting the custom scripted bad ending as a result , essentially tricked me into thinking the game was a non-linear mystery solving story which then disappointed me when i realized on the next loop i could only select ashe's scenario before getting to the others and it was entirely linear except for this first selection :/ but , choosing wilardo first did make it so that when the scary stories part of ashe's scenario happened i was nerves in anticipation of things going very wrong for everyone , which even though it didn't in the end the suspense that added to ashe's scenario because i the player knew about the details of the demon summoning ritual was a real bonus

im gonna assume that things like zizle's reason for the contracts will be explained in the other conclusion scenarios

I interpreted Wilardo's line from the opening to be a reference to how his life's mission is searching for the cursed flower. Because he has to mull over the entire world, and because of the logic behind how the flower only moves once it's picked, Wilardo has no need to return to a place if he already knows that the flower isn't there. He has too much ground to cover and wants to optimize his time, since he's already experienced enough out of life and only wants rest. It also I think *could* point to how returning to a place over and over again puts him at risk of being discovered for being different, since other people would notice the fact that he hasn't aged, but I don't know if I believe that one as much.

While I’m not quite sure, I do think the books that Claire talks about in the beginning corresponds to the characters, at least Noel and Ashe. If I am recalling correctly, Noel’s encounter with Claire coincides with story of the girl who was lost and taken by a witch to her house, Noel being the lost one and Claire being the one to find and take him to her house. Meanwhile, I think Ashe’s backstory with Matty (although not “love” rivals) corresponds with the story about a girl eliminating her rival in love. See, Matty hated Ashe because they were both aiming to become doctors (I think) and his parents would always compare them, so Matty went and eliminated Ashe’s reason to become a doctor, thus eliminating his rival. It might be loopy reasoning but that’s how I see it haha.

You really have to play this scenario before Wilardo's. There shouldn't be an option for doing Wilardo's first, it spoils Ashe's character. Maybe that's why some people feel the pacing is bad in this one, they already know Ashe's intentions and the questions the game throws at them could feel like a waste of time.

Apologies if I'm remembering something wrong or if somebody else has already pointed this out (or if you point it out later since I just paused to write this comment), but I believe Ashe actually has a unique interaction with wine! He usually refuses, but will drink on occasion if you keep trying over and over. I dunno if this only happens during specific circumstances, like if it's a flag set for this chance to happen only after certain scenes or something, but I remember encountering it during my first replay and being enamored with how interesting it is.

I've always thought of lime as a sort of parallel to sirius, in that lime thinks no one can understand her because she has had the worst life out of everyone, and in a similar vein sirius is also constantly claiming himself to be the biggest victim and talking about how no one understands what he had to go through. So in a way I think of lime as what sirius could have become if not for his attachment to lady dorothy. Not sure if this necessarily helps you in understanding lime's character more but this is just my interpretation. Overall I am loving how insightful and in depth these analyses have been and can't wait for more!
