Your tenacity paid off!! This is such an historic find, the visual joining of early warning lookout forts. Those ancient natives put a lot of thought, planning, and energy to construct this means of protecting themselves from the Chacoan cannibals and slave traders. Another home run on this adventure!!
Thanks! It was quite an adventure, but this line of sight across the valley takes the cake! I was out tonight and found another hilltop site but not in the same valley. But also with a line of site to a different ruin. Thanks again for joining my adventures!
THANK YOU .........👍😊🙏>>>💚

That transposed very nicely. I think that is the first time that I’ve seen a petroglyph or pictograph have, what appears to be, a clear and concise message. That was a very good call, my friend.

Another enticing adventure! Those stone forts indicate responses to marauders looking for prey. To the east and north east were the Chacoans, whose existence centered upon raiding, enslaving, and harvesting man corn. These promontory forts/lookouts would have provided early warnings of raiding parties. Anyway, that's my opinion. Thank you for all your efforts in accessing and videoing these intriguing structures.
The entrances/exits to and from this valley are Southeast and Northwest. The valley is naturally protected by high mountains from all other directions. I want to find out more and will be haunting this valley and surrounding hills and buttes in the months to come. I'll try to update by video as I find more interesting sites! Thanks for joining the adventure!
awesome stuff...thanks for having us along...
Glad you enjoyed it!
My theory is that there were bands of Marauders coming out of Mexico looking for slaves and sacrificial victims and or slaves to restore the balance to the economic and climatic woes down south. You've heard of the Gambler who is partly associated with the chaco region. This is why I believe from 1100 to 1450 that they started establishing cliff dwellings and hilltop forts.
Thanks for sharing your theory! The ruin I found by binocular today was only a couple miles away from the one I visited. It will be interesting to see if it was inhabited or was just a lookout like the first two. I may put together a “fictional” map of the valley and show the sites after I make a comprehensive search of the hilltops. That might be cool. Thanks again!
They say that all those hilltop ruins were connected by line of sight. Which means that they were using some kind of signals. Smoke. Some of the conferences I've listened to said that there were one to 5 miles apart. Good job man. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks! I am always interested in learning more, so if you know of any conference or what have you, let me know. Thanks for joining the adventure and thanks for the sub!
👍👋🙏>>>💚
Thanks for Joining the Adventure!
@@-JoinMyAdventures I imagine they probably had some sort of signaling system so they could communicate between each place 🤔
I believe that also! There was no pottery or lithic material at either site so they were not habitats. Thanks for the comment and being a loyal subscriber!

Way marker, light house, or even a tomb. I did not see an obvious door. makes me think tomb. Built on the high ground closer to the Gods for religious reasons. thank you
Could be almost anything. There are a lot of ruins around here with no door openings on the sides, but they could climb down a ladder through the roof. Thanks for joining the adventure!
You get my vote for tenacity in your effort just to get to this ruin. That is one amazing structure perched on a promontory with unobstructed views. Was it a habitation, a fort, or a watch post? The lack of potshards and lithic remnants indicates to me this place had a very significant and perplexing purpose. This was an awesome adventure, thank you.
Thank you for joining my adventure! The lack of lithic and pottery is evidence against habitation. I found absolutely none. With the direct line of sight to several other sites lead me to think lookout/signal site. It was quite a trek to get there but was totally worth it!
Thanks!

I just love your videos! This is one of the best finds - how they merged their walls with the bedrock is amazing. Thank you for comparing the Google Earth view with your drone shot and highlighting the outline of the ruin and the rooms inside. Great work! I like your "signature" music in the later part of the video. Thank you, Heath!
Thanks! I have been out of commission for a few months, but went out yesterday and found another hilltop ruin. Hopefully the video will be on my channel later today! Have a Merry Christmas!
These are definitely not run of the mill petroglyphs . They have a lot more labor put into them. Also I wouldn't have expected to see them on these rough surfaces either. What drew so many petrogyphs to be tapped out on this formation of rocks? We will never know any more than their meaning. Perhaps something spiritual. 'Tis good to see you back.
Thanks! I wish I had more time in the canyon. It took me longer to get there than I had intended. I'll go back and see if I missed anything, I'm almost positive I did! Thanks again for joining my adventure!
@@-JoinMyAdventures I am sure you will find much more you missed. It'll be like watching a movie the second time and catching all that overlooked stuff. Remember the first time around the brain only recalls 10%. Anyway I'd never seen such ornate petroglyphs. Looking forward to any recap on this one area, and will watch this video to reclaim more of that 90%. 75° out there now sounds nice. 30°s here in ole N.E. Brrrrr.
@ it was a high of 53 today! I’m 2 hours north of Phoenix, so about 20 degrees cooler all year round!
What a great video! Who needs music or commentary with the background sounds of nature, your crunching footsteps and all those petroglyphs! One boulder after another. Wonder what the obsession with parallel lines is all about? An amazing site! So glad to have you post again!
@@DV14502 battling with some health stuff, not feeling able to get out there as much! Cooler weather now so I’ll get out when I can! Thanks for joining the adventure again!
When you said filled with petroglyphs you weren't just whistling dixie! A plethora of enigmatic images consisting of lines and circles, if only they could talk. I could make out lots of human and animal type figures plus a hand print or two. A lot to ponder in that canyon. Thanks for taking the time and effort to document your trek and sharing it with us.
@@donwagner7395 it was amazing! I didn’t have much time on that adventure! I am sure many escaped my discovery! I will have to return! Thanks for joining my adventure!
Dont believe its smoke under the boulder the width of band is only 20 inches wide or so and its perfectly straigjt, there are many other stripes coming down the boulder its most likely water staining from top of the big boulder running straight down, too mant stripes
You are probably right! Thanks for joining my adventure!
WOW! Enchanting! No words or music to distract you from what you are seeing. Such a "profusion" of petroglyphs! Thank you for sharing this special place with us housebound types. 🥰🤠😎
I tried something different! Thanks for joining my adventure!
I'm thinking a couple things. 1. Could there be an Indian settlement not too far away and this was used as a look out post? 2. Could this ruin have been a link in a series of other look out posts that were in sight of each other?
I’m not sure about the settlement but very good chance of it, but yesterday I found another ruin with line of site to this one! It will be next week’s adventure video! Thanks for the comment and for joining the adventure!

I have been out of commision for a while and am getting back going again now. Just published a new video today! Hopefully will gain likes and subscribers!
so where is the 'map' to find the Map? that did not require a map for anyone who would be where the so called 'map' is, would also know where the water is. silly
It looks like they would enter the canyon from the south and would pass by the "map" on the way. Where the canyon takes the sharp corner it also flattens out and is much easier to exit the canyon and continue north. If the map wasn't there they would definitely miss the water holes. Thanks for joining my adventure!
Just found your channel. I am really enjoying the content.

What great adventure! I am fascinated by the geology of that place - all that gnarly rock sitting on top of the sandstone. I'm no geologist but some of it looks volcanic and some metamorphic - it's a crazy jumble! Do you know what the formation is?
Thanks! The geology here is bizarre! The volcanic rock is basalt but very unformed and chunky! It did make an amazing alcove to build in! Thanks for joining the adventure!
I'm so glad to see your new channel! You are great- welcome back! And this is a fantastic video! It sure looks like you decoded that petroglyph as a map. I'm blown away.
@@DV14502 the toughest part was forgetting they didn’t use north as the top of the map they used the sun! Makes sense! I may go back and look for camps at some point! I’m glad you found my channel! It is growing very slowly! And thanks for joining my adventure!
