If the seal has been bad for a while, replace the axle bearing. You can tell if it’s bad if the seal goes bad again very soon. What happens is the diff fluid washed the grease out of the sealed bearing. Then the bearing gets slight play and wipes out the seal.

@@ahmadsalim8752 Man so I did it and in the process the starter pig tail got broken 😡 now I can’t put the car back together until Saturday when the new pig tail shows up. The little red tab broke off. The red tab is the part that holds the clip down.

@@ahmadsalim8752 I pulled back on the clip and the tip part of it broke off so I used a small flat head to push the rest of it out from the other side. Installed the new starter when I went to plug it back in it would not hold then I saw there was another piece of plastic that fell out. My store manager at Pepboys ordered the pig tail autozone say it will come in on Saturday. So now the car is stuck there until Saturday. It’s ok tho I have plenty of other diagnostic’s I did that are waiting on parts to come in and new cars come in every day so I have work.

Can ask you I have 282,000 on my truck right now and I have been loosing a very small amount of coolant for the last 30,000 to 40,000 miles but the aren’t any leaks that are visible but I can smell a little coolant

You do not have to discharge the A/C refrigerant... remove the air filter box and you can wiggle the compressor up where the air box sits and lay it there with the lines still attached... i just removed the purge solenoid and a few other simple things out of the way.

But when you accelerated or revved the engine, did the heat work? Or was there no heat only at idle? My situation is that the car will get heat when driving or accelerating but not at idle, thus, causing car to overheat. Thermostat has already been changed. Can you think of any ideas?

I own 11 of these Ford focuses normally when you lose heat at idle and there's a leak somewhere in the system I've had some of them need the upper hose because the quick disconnect area it was seeping or I've also had the water outlets on the block cause that issue that you're describing

I would cut a section of that cardboard out the size of your water pump and then just poke holes where the bolts go push the bolts through the cardboard gently and they will hold and draw an arrow for up and then you can pull each bolt out when you need it.
