I identified several areas where I can help improve your video to reach a wider audience. Would you be open to discussing this in more detail?
thank you for your comment!
Is dress turned out beautiful!
Thank you Zelda. I love it. ❣️
Thank for info about fabric shops 👍
You're welcome ❣️ There's more shops there I hope to explore the next time I'm in London. 😃
It is so cute! Love the 3rd top the most.
Thank you! Hope you didn't find my thought process too chaotic haha. ❣️
@@Justine_made_it cahos is part of the process
So true 😁
I love the last part where you paid attention to the accessories 😊
Definitely worth mentioning 😉❣️
So cute!!! I love all the details in this set. Your pattern hacking was also brilliant.
Thank you so much ❣️ Finally have the weather to wear this outfit 🌞😎
Congratulations on getting to the summit. Lovely pictures of the Scottish country side. I use the technique of putting woven pockets in jersey fabric too. It just makes sense to me as I am always stuffing heavy things into my pockets. I bought a Lady McElroy remnant at the Stitch festival also and am making a co-ord set. I'm still working on the top but hope to finish it this week.
Thanks Barbara! I can't believe I've done it. I'm so happy my knees didn't betray me hahaha. Ooh co-ord. I am quite obsessed with them too and Lady Macelroy cotton's are great for our (showery) summer!
I like that Animal print with the gold spots on for the viola dress ,I’m going to the show in Harrogate in November which is my birthday so I’ll be spending a lot 😂😂
Ah yes that would be a good pairing! I'm thinking of going since Harrogate is not that far from Newcastle but I think I will just go for one day. The workshops are not available on the website yet so not sure which day would be best. I better prepare my shopping budget too. Enjoy shopping 😅🤣🤣
This is the best video that I have seen about the festival, the tips are very useful for people attending for the first time. I am a Londoner so I usually go and this year was no exception. Like you, I bought at the Lady McElroy remnant section. I made a skirt with it , which got compliments from complete strangers because of the amazing fabric, and I am now working on a waistcoat with the leftover fabric. I hope I bump into at the Stitch Festival next year.
Thank you so much for your appreciation! I thought I'll answer the questions I had myself as non- London resident and a first timer! I've sewn my Lady Macelroy fabric already. I love the print! Yes, hope to bump into you next year! Xx
Great tips, thanks for sharing
You are welcome. t's a good show to go to. Thanks for watching ❣️
The black version gets my vote. :) I'm 5' and pay attention to the details that make a dress or top look frumpy. We have to be so careful with sleeve length and other adjustments. We are about the same size. I recently made a linen shift dress with puffy sleeves, making me look pregnant. LOL, I'm not. I'm going to start incorporating zippers, princess seams, and shirred panels in the back of the dress. Trimming the the size down of any ruffle or flair also helps. I love your style and appreciate that you are sharing your sewing skills. I need all the help I can adjusting my petite stature.
Thank you! The black one is the one I have been wearing at work. I have worn it with either black or nude sleeves undershirt. I love the trend of big puffy sleeves but it is challenging to pull it off when you are petite! I have made another one of these Ganni inspired tops and hopefully will post it soon ☺️
Will copy you shamelessly! I really like what you made.
Oh that is sweet! Please copy away ❣️
really informative video, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊

Thank you for watching.
I have made that new look top and trousers ..I made it twice ...you definitely need light weight woven stiff material... in Jersey the bodice will be wrong. Using the right material for the right project is important...
Ah good to know! I have actually made pajamas now with that jersey fabric. I just traced a pair that I use a lot so I haven't used the Newlook pattern yet. I'll wait until I have the right material 😄. Thanks for your comment and also thanks for watching ❣️

Thank you so much for putting this video out! I've just bought the corset style jacket pattern you used and I found your tips very useful especially the Maratex thread and identifying the pattern pieces once they're cut out. What size jacket did you make please? Sometimes I find McCalls patterns quite big..... Thanks for responding 😀!
Your are welcome 🤗 My measurements are 34-29-38 inches and I cut size 12. It's's a little roomy around the chest area. It is a corset style jacket so I could have adjusted that area to be true to the style of the pattern but I'm comfortable with it as it is. Good luck with your project ❣️
Justine- thanks ever so for responding! I'll give the 12 a go (I'm a size 10/12 but a pensioner so not as swelte as you! ) but I'll decrease the seam allowance which will be easy enough on my overlocker. Many thanks once again 🤗
@@dglady5168I'm jealous, you have an overlocker 😆. Take care!
I’m making the hoodie with the pockets right now and I’m still trying to figure out the pockets. I’ll have to get the stretch thread.
Ah nice! Id like to try the hoodie option with long sleeves and thumb hook but I'm not sure about the pockets. I think it might distract from the corset style of the jacket. Let me know how you get on.❣️😄
You look great in your two piece. Thank you for your view of mariflex thread, I am going to try it for my next stretch project. Do you have a zipper foot for your machine? I have a different brand of sewing machine and I have two types, one for invisible zips and one for standard zips, which allow me to sew really close to the zip teeth.
hello Barbara! Thank you. I recently bought 2 types of zipper foot. I'm still trying to get use to using them. I feel like I don't have great control when I use them compared to hand stitching. Good luck on your next stretch project 😃
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you ❣️
I like dress 2. The blocks of check sizes shows the waist detail.
Thank you.Yes, you are right! I'm appreciating this version more and more❣️
new subscriber here. We are going to buy some fabric and looking for video.. Your video gives a good lesson. Like it.
Hi! Thank you for subscribing. I'm glad it helped ❣️
These sound like fun projects, especially the Missoni dress!
Thank you! I'm excited and scared to make that Missoni dress. The fabric is now out of stock so I cannot mess up 😅
Love that blue fabric ! ❤
Me too ❣️ Thank you for watching.

I like Versions 1 and 3 🥳
Thank you! I like both for different reasons ❣️
Hi Justine, I really enjoyed hearing about your learning journey through the 3 makes. I also learned something new about gingham! I can see why no. 3 is your favourite, but no.2 stands out to me because of the clever way you’ve used different scales of check and how that shows off the details of the construction 😊
Hello 👋 Thank you so much! I do like learning those random facts so I thought I'll share. I was quite pleased how version 2 turned out with the 2 gingham fabrics. Out of the 3, that's the one I wear the most last year❣️
I like jumpsuits on other people, but not on me. Because it would take me too long to get out of to get to the bathroom.😅😅😅😮😮😮
haha I know what you mean! This is not too bad ( getting in and out of)! Generally I do have to allow ample time going to the bathroom if I'm wearing one 😂
Wow, your jumpsuit you are wearing is beautiful. As my granddaughter says to me,...Good job! Have a blessed day, and Happy Sewing! 🧵
Thank you I love it too. Very comfy! 🥰 happy sewing and have a great day ❣️

Lovely fabrics from Liberty, the red floral fabric is very pretty and will make a lovely top. I love visiting Liberty’s, it’s very hard to make a choice with all the beautiful fabrics. ❤️
Same! I love Liberty's and Liberty fabrics. I will post what I've made. Hoping to make something before summer 🌞. ❣️
