It will be hard to dispute any one saying that this band has the best instruments of all steel bands, maybe only Desperadoes can come close. These pans are simply brilliant in tone 👏

So strange look how many good players missing from this band. Players who were the core of this band success over the pass 7 years just vanished like that. Sad when you look at the front an you see 11 faces missing

Go the Arranger, road music for steel bands must be made simple an sweet, one way if doing this is by letting the basses drive the music, meaning you construct the basses to play what you call "Walking bass" giving the basses panorama type music yo play while moving is crazy

You see arrangers are trying to follow what other bands are doing. Now that is good if you have the pans. This arrangement is nice but my god the basses wow. Those are old pans with no sound. Still the arranger who's pretty good as I have played with him in the UK with Mangrove chose to put music down that just sounded really awful. Arrangers wants to give basses music that do not suit those pans, especially when they sound like old galvanized. Take a leaf out of Smooth pages. He keeps it simple on the basses. You cannot give those pans music where the players cannot double the notes. Once you play single notes especially with badly tuned pans this is how bad it sounds. My god this was awful to the ear

One of the many joys of carnival that I miss was pushing those pans to town and and back. Invaders and their followers went together like a hand in a glove. In times past, sections of steelbands played at parties, and they had to leave at a certain time in order for them to make it back to their home base to leave for J'ouvert. Those were the days.

Holy cow! ~~ this is one hell of a difference from this year. Sounds like a band that I remember. Their chosen tune for 2020 was wrong.

teh kids are all right! warms the heart to know that our culture is firmly living on with the youth!. terrific arrangement, a bit too sharp in my opinion, not quite balanced across all sectors of the orchestra. highs all the time, a bit monotone, some more light and shade please. a little softer on the melodies. best wishes for the finals. _@darrel3000

I always check for Couva Joylanders ever since they did Iwer's Nah Do Dat. All yuh did not disappoint me this year. Have to listen further when I land in tnt.

Ok. So ah listen Renegades and they were on fyah. Then ah listen Skiffle. Here's what I think. Just my opinion. Renegades "wrong again" was like someone who did wrong and is arrogant about it. They come up in yuh face with their arrogance. Skiffle's was more a contrite pleading wrong again; they asking and would like to make up. I'm not as judge or doh even come close to being one. I leave that to the xperts. I just love panorama music and vibes. So for carnival I'm with the arrogant wrong again.

Was that judging or rehearsal because that sounding like that band not in the final trust me but niceness still
