How to change your Jeep JL Gauge Cluster
In this video I will show you how to change or upgrade your Jeep Gauge Cluster.
In this particular video I am upgrading our black and white 3.5" to a full colour 7.0" Gauge Cluster. This particular Cluster came from a Rubicon so it has the 2 off-road pages installed!
Tools needed:
- 10mm Wrench
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Trim removal Tool
Total installation time took about 15 minutes!
If you want to retain your previous mileage, you will need to get your new cluster adjusted. This can be done by various company's. The Dealership will not.

Jeep (Wrangler) TJ 4.0 Thermostat housing

Had a leak on the thermostat housing below the temperature sensor. Repaired it with Permatex water pump& thermostat housing gasket maker. Tools used: 1/2" breaker bar (to loosen belt tensioner) 3/8" ratchet 13mm socket 13mm deep socket 320 Grit sandpaper Permatex water pump& thermostat housing gasket maker Thank you for watching!
Jeep TJ 4.0 Fan Clutch Replacement

Replacing a Fan Clutch on a Jeep TJ 4.0 The Fan Clutch was taken off the water pump last year, due to a failed water pump. Thats the reason the Fan Clutch came off very easely. I used a Pipe wrench and a hammer during both removals. First time it took me a few more hits. I just had my cluster voltage ic replaced hoping that would be the fix but it wasn’t unfortunately. Any ideas on what else may cause a total cluster failure?
THOUGHT you needed to hold the pully in place to get the fan off? did you just have the fan off a few days ago or something?

Did you drain all the coolant from the radiator beforehand ?
Yes I did, the whole system was empty.
Do u think 2020 Jeep Wrangler cluster 4 door will work with 2022 jeep gladiator please respond thank u
I am not a 100% sure since I have not taken apart the gladiator dash, but looking at both units I would assume this is possible!
where do I buy a new cluster?
Hey Marco! I bought my cluster at LKQonline, they have several salvaged Jeeps in their inventory with zero miles (these Jeeps got in an accident during transportation). When you look for a cluster, just double check on the salvage Jeep for a 2/4 door. It’s just a nice feature to have once you install it. Side note, your Mileage will go to whatever the donor cluster has. Depending on which state or personal preference, you could pay a company to match your new cluster to your current Jeeps miles. Yes you can!
Does the meter need to be programmed after installation! Does it support the Arabic language?
The unit does not require any programming, it’s plug and play. If you are really concerned about the correct mileage than you can get that changed at several online webshops. I am not sure if the unit supports the Arabic Language
Can you please let me know the price of the new console ?
They range from $160- $190. Bought mine on LKQ website, unit was brand new!
question, the dealership say apparently i can’t upgrade my uconnect radio to the 7 inch because it won’t work on my jl is there any way i can upgrade to the 7 inch radio ?
Hey Pablo! Sorry for my late response, this is usual response from the dealership. You are able to upgrade your radio, just make sure when you purchase the unit to get the four digit (4) anti theft code and their VIN. You can also call the Dealership if you have their VIN and not the anti theft code, you might have to call several dealerships since some of them are not willing to provide you this over the phone (basically they want money for it). Hope this helps!
Nice video, i've been looking for a video on how to make that change for a long time. My question is the cluster is new or used?? Did you have to reflash the computer?? Or was it just plug and play?? And what cluster did you buy if you can put the part number for reference, i will follow you and a like a video.
Gabriel Cruz, thank you for your response! The cluster I used was second hand. Bought it from LKQ online, was allot cheaper than infotainment or EBay. I had to flash the cluster to reflect the current miles on my Jeep, this was done by a company in Florida (was about $100-200 including shipping). If you don’t sent it off you will get the mileage from the donor Jeep. I don’t have access to my Laptop so I can’t give you the part number (currently at sea for the next few months). If you look on the LKQ website and search for the cluster, make sure it matches your 2dr or 4dr Jeep. Once I am back home I’ll sent you a private message!

Is the 4 digit code on back of radio? I'm thinking of buying used one from Jeeper
D J the code can be found in the glove compartment. If you buy one, make sure you get this code or their VIN. So you can call the Jeep Dealership Parts Department and they can provide the code as well.
