The plate umpire is so out of position. The reason she out of position is she is afraid of the ball hitting her. There is no way that she can see the ball cross home plate. The catcher's head and upper body is hiding the whole plate from her view. Hey lady get into the slot. You equipment will protect you. I was in a Varisity game and a 100mph foul tip hit me in the mask at eye level. I absolutly felt nothing. I did flinch. The only time I got hurt I had both hands in front of me at chest level and a foul tip hit my right hand. After that I put my hands behind my back.
