A short film about my OO Gauge cameo layout, Old Parrock
I have been looking for this again for months! And guess what turned up in railway modeller. Congratulations, it's a fantastic layout!
Many thanks Night Ferry - I'm really glad you like the layout.
Delightful!
Smashing
That's quite a shunting puzzle!
Saw your layout at the Abingdon show today. It was my favourite! Well done, so lovely. Excellent video as well.
We saw this layout at Tonbridge today & thought the quality and craftsmanship were superb, thank you.
Thank you Martin and Lucy. I'm glad you enjoyed Old Parrock and the Tonbridge Show. We had a great time there although I talked som much that I lost my voice by mid-afternoon!
Thank you for the kind comments everyone - they're very much appreciated.
A real work of art - well done, Mr Rhodes!
What a gem! I guess the line has been taken over by the Southern Railway (or are the engines on hire?), but an appropriate extra figure might be Colonel Stephens himself, on a flying visit of inspection...
Lovely detailed model 👍 not much changed over the years station staff still asleep 😂
Once again, brilliant, like the back hand compliment to Duck End👍👍👍
Brilliant 👍👍what couplings do you use, Dingham?
Hi Bill, Thank you for your kind comment. I did initially have Dinghams coupliings fitted to the stock but I have now reverted to three links. As the layout is operated from the front it's not really a problem apart being a bit fiddly sometimes, and I like the look better. Paul
Hi Paul. I've just stumbled across your amazing layout. Are you showing it over the rest of 2023 I'd really love to see it in the flesh as it were. Many thanks Stuart.
Many thanks for that. No more shows in 2023 but we are at Canterbury 20/21st January and Tonbridge on 17th February.
I was fascinated with this layout at the Uckfield Show last year. Wonderful
What a lovely set of videos of this beautifully crafted layout. For me, it was the highlight of the show at Newbury yesterday, and a pleasure meeting and chatting with you and your wife. Thank you for sharing on UA-cam and exhibiting Old Parrock.🙂
Thank you so much for your very kind comment. We had a good day at the Newbury Show and it's always good to chat with visitors to Old Parrock.
The art work for the modelling and photography just excellent. Just imagine if you could see you this in the cinema that’s where it belongs.👍😎
Que joli petit réseau, plein de charme et de poésie et qui sent bon la belle campagne anglaise. Superbe. 👍😉 merci beaucoup du partage !
Merci beaucoup, Manu Manu.
Simply superb. An inspiration for those of us short of space. Many thanks.
Brilliant Paul, great editing with sound. Your commentary could of done with being up and scenic sounds down a bit in a place or two. Does not distract at all from an excellent video.
Stunning and exquisitely modelled. I love the simplicity and nothing cluttered. The figures are amazing. Lovely.
Marvellous modelling! 🙂
Just been mulling over an old copy of MRJ and saw this - so happy that a quick search brought me here! Beautiful and atmospheric
Thank you for your very kind comment, Nick.
Lovely!
Very nice, I’m in Perth Western Australia and I was there avoiding the stinging nettle‘s to get a view of what was going on👍😎
Very well done , and entertaining 👍😎
lovely layout. 1 comment I hope will help -- in one sequence it looks like the last coal delivery was wrong and had to go back! When we exhibited Tibberton we started the sequence with empty coal wagons at the merchant's siding, took them away, and brought fresh full wagons in one of the goods trains. At the end of the sequence, we swapped the full for empties [a hand-of-God fiddle!] - same with a machine wagon at the carriage chute - and empty was there at the start, which was taken by the first goods, and a later train brought an identical vehicle with a tractor on, which was assumed to be removed later, leaving the empty wagon for the next day!
Thank you so much. Congratulations on your skill creating a visual depiction of the history and development of the railway.
Great stuff, beautiful and with lots of insight
A wonderful presentation that reminds us of a long bygone era that we can resurrect in our minds and in a layout... so inspiring..
Nice one lots going on. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely perfect! Always a dream and pleasure to watch this wonderful little cameo layout. Thank you for sharing once again.
What a wonderfully atmospheric and truly inspiring piece of railway modelling. I look forward to perhaps getting the chance to see this at a show one day.
Great layout, nothing overstated. The figures are very good -- could you tell us who makes them, please?
Thank you for the kind comment. The figures are a mixture of Modelu (the two ladies by the cottage are part of the Pendon Collection, if I remember rightly) and Dart Castings. I also like Andrew Stadden figures and some of the loco crews are those.
Enchanting...... Just.......... Enchanting
It's lovely and well presented.
Makes you wonder how the railway companies could possibly have covered their costs running such tiny trains.
Kinda makes me want to live there/then. An absolute delight. If it really is OO what track have you used? I've never seen OO track look that good.
Thank for your very kind comment, Roger. The track and points are Peco Bullhead finescale.
@@paulrhodes897 Now that surprises me. I knew that the Peco Bullhead was an improvement on their normal offerings, but this is an order of magnitude better.
An absolutely sublime layout that since I saw in MRJ No284, I have become totally enchanted with. I'm a huge fan of Cameo layouts. Thank you so so much for sharing.
Thank you so much for that very kind comment - much appreciated. Paul
Thanks for sharing this stunning video Paul
Nice use of real sound. Locos drifting around rather than wuff wuffwuffing with one wagon. 👍
.؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟!!!!
Stunning Paul - look forward to seeing more.
