Beautiful plants. We just added the same plants our front this year but we don't know how to winterize them. I apparently also have violas as well. Can you help with this
I have beautiful baskets like these and I use the same method, water daily and fertilize weekly. The only battle I have is if I get earwigs in the basket, drives me crazy….
@@josiahcollett3635 thank you very much! I greatly appreciate you replying so quickly. I bought two huge, beautiful hanging baskets and most of the flowers have run their course and I had no idea what to do to get the flowers to continue to grow to replace the ones that are no longer with us. 😃
are these a certain variety of petunias or can this be done with any kind? theres a lot of wild petunias at my shop and last year i moved some to a hanging basket and they did well but eventually died
I know its an old video but ive followed it to a T, my question is how often do you deadhead? And how adamant are you about getting ever spent flower? Mine are much smaller and they take like a hour each to deadhead. Thank you! 🙏
I never had to deadhead these. The new blooms cover the old ones. Sometimes after a rain there were some old blooms showing, but I just waited a couple days and then they disappeared.
@@josiahcollett3635 interesting, I was always told the spent flowers go to seed and that takes energy from the plant and you won't get as many flowers... I may have to do a side by side experiment, thank you for the reply!
@@EgZ3910 some petunias will put more energy into producing seeds, but with enough fertilizer it shouldn’t be a problem. There are also lots of sterile varieties available now too! I primarily grow the Proven Winners Supertunias, because they don’t produce seeds.

6 plants in each. These are Supertunias from Proven Winners. The vista and mini vista series are really good. These are Vista Bubblegum, Vista Silverberry, and Vista fuchsia.
@@Raniljayakody just fertilizer! Supertunias are actually mostly sterile, so they produce very few seeds if any. The only time you might feel like you need to deadhead is after a rain, because a lot of the flowers will melt if they stay wet too long. But if you fertilize, it only takes a few days for new flowers to cover all the old ones.
Your baskets are stunning, but so are the plants underneath them. Please tell me what they are. I love the pink, especially please let me know appreciate it I’m just in all of all of it. 1:49 1:52
I wish my baskets looked half as good as yours. Excellent video......... useful information............ I'll try the Jack's fertilizer and see if that makes a difference. Thanks!!!!
@@lindsayb1329 water lightly before adding the fertilizer. You want the soil to be moist so that it can absorb the fertilizer, but not too wet so that it runs out the bottom.
Thanks
i do all these things every year and they still look crap. 😢

you don't talk about deadheading.. Did you use a variety that doesn't require it? If so, can you share what variety that is?

You flush out the nutrients when that much water comes out. Only a few drops should come out the bottom.

What’s the name of Plant can I buy them at Lowe’s?
Usually. They’re called Supertunias. They should be in a white pot that says Proven Winners. Bubblegum is the best variety.
